Longshot--Anybody know Ana's (@ Devachan) routine?

Ana told me that she wets her hair every morning (she goes to the gym) and uses Devacurl OC only to style. I am not sure, but I am almost certain that she uses No Poo to wash. I can ask her if you want. I have to go back for highlights soon.

Ana still uses the same routine that she told me back in December. No poo once in a while, OC and sometimes AnGell. Ezy said that she likes to keep it very basic and simple. Sometimes she just uses OC and leaves most of it in.
Oh and she also does Pintura highlights! HTH

I have been doing doing this routine ( co washing, conditioning, scrunching and plopping every other day) for almost 2 weeks now, and to my surprise my hair is not weighed down or yucky but moisturized and super curly. It looks like a half and half mix of 3a/3b. Oh and with the exception of yesterday, I have not used any styling products just left in the condish ( I have been co washing and conditioning with first Robert Craig condish and now Activate). I have to say I amazed at how simple this routine is. In case anybody is wondering this is what I have been doing:
Co wash scalp only with Activate condish
Rinse scalp with warm water
Apply Activate all over hair
Let sit while I do my other shower stuff
Finger comb out any tangles
Bend over to left and scrunch
Bend over to right and scrunch
Flip head over and scrunch again
While flipped over plop hair into tshirt and leave on a bit
Flip head over remove tshirt and let hair airdry the rest of the way
Also, the only reason I have been doing it every other day is because I am too lazy to do my hair everyday but I can tell that my hair would get much curlier if I did this routine everyday. I am just amazed that I am not getting any buildup or droppy curls.

You are a pro JerseyCurl! Glad it working for you!
I've never heard of Activate? Who makes this conditioner?

And she said that her hair stylist basically told her to scrunch and scrunch some more and that eventually the curl will start to hold the curl longer without the aid of styling product because you have "trained" it to do so by scrunching soo much.

Activate is a drugstore condish that was brought to the attention of this board by the brilliant, Internetchick. It is cone free and it is the only thing other than Deva One that can detangle my hair without me having to literally rip out the tangles. No lie, the tangles just melt from my hair. It is amazing and sooo cheap when compared to DevaOne. It is a drugstore condish that is sold at Target, Walgreens and Ulta. The only thing is that it isn't sold at every Target and Walgreens. I had to go all the way into Tampa( about a good 30-45 minute trip) in order to get the 2 bottles that I bought. It does have some protein but it is towards the end of the ingredients list. Here is a link to their site.

Thanks for the info JerseyCurl. I didn't know that the Deva DVD has been on sale. How did I miss this? Where can I buy it? Yeah, scrunching did the trick!
I'll check out that conditioner!

I have to warn you that the dvd is not very "instructional" as my hubby put it it is more of a promo for Devachan but what I liked is that I got to see Ana for a short blip anyway doing her own hair and that was worth it to me.

Thanks JerseyCurl!

One question about Activate, does the soy protein bother your hair? And what's your hair type? I trying to figure out if this is worth a shot. It looks good to me! Thanks!

Regarding the soy protein, in the past it has bothered me and I have read on the board here where some others have been bothered by it as well. But I have noticed one thing lately now that it seems not to be bothering my hair. Following the Ana routine of leaving all the condish in and or just making sure that I use a leave in my hair is fine. The only time I have problem is when I don't use a leave in or don't leave any condish in. Meaning the more moisturized and hydrated my hair is the less of a problem it is if that makes any sense.

You are so sweet, thanks! It sounds to me that you leave in most of the Activate with no problems so far. My hair is a bit curlier than yours so leave ins are a must for me! Thanks again!

I have long fine hair and tried the OC thing yesterday and continious scrunching till it was almost dry. Those were the best curls I EVER had. I got paranoid about them staying though when I went to work, so I did add a tiny bit of gel but I really didn't need it. I also had to break out the blow dryer to dry the roots. But I could see if I'd had time to let it air dry -- my main problem is getting the water out without getting it TOO dry to set properly...
