Default B&A Method: Are you brushing the gel in too?

Confused! I get that you have to brush after rinsing the conditioner, but do you brush in the gel too? TIA!

I brush through before putting in my gel, never after. I will wait until I put in Re:Coil or if I'm using any leave-in conditioner and then brush after that before I put in gel.

The B&A method is brushing before the gel goes in. No products in the hair.
I tried brushing my gel in just to see how it would do and that makes my crown flat and pulls some curl out blah!

I like to lightly brush styling products in. I don't do it every single time (my hair seems to like routine change), but I find it distributes much more evenly and helps clumping. The curl is about the same, but my diffuser helps enhance that a bit anyway

Tomorrow I'm going to try doing what I guess I was supposed to do in the first place and brush before I put any products at all in my hair. My crown was flat this morning, too, so I don't know if it's because I brushed after putting in re:coil or not.
