Went to Deva-trained stylist and got a carve and slice cut

my hair won't curl like it used to and i can't straighten it! getting married next week and about to have a breakdown.
I'm so sorry to hear that! I've had the same problem after quite a few haircuts myself. Is it long enough to maybe do some kind of updo, if you can't wear it down?

If you go to a salon, they won't let you leave looking bad.

Yep, my sis is a curly too but also had her hair done for her wedding. They just touched up some curls with the curling iron and did a half updo. Good luck and congratulations!

I'm surprised they carved and sliced at a deva-trained salon. Maybe a bit of carving, if you want to call it that, as they cut each curl but no slicing or cutting curls to the roots or anything.

Yeah, I agree with the others. I wanted my hair curly for my wedding but I still had some relaxer on my ends and I didn't think my hair could hold a curl. But I found a guy who was really good with styling hair. Like Pixiecurl he did a halfup style where he curled individual curls with a curling iron and pinned some up. He used tons of hairspray and promised that the curls would hold and sure enough they did. They were slightly stretched out by the end of the night but my hair still looked good. I'm sure you're going to be a beautiful bride.

Strange! I thought it was Ouidad who did the carve and slice?

I agree about wearing it up.
i think i will try the half up half down like you guys said.. and i was disappointed that the cut was a carve and slice, that's the whole reason i went to a deva trained stylist, to get a deva cut NOT thinned out.
I don't know if this will help. My hair is wavy, not curly. For my wedding, the stylist made a small number of curls with a curling iron in a few strategic places, and it gave the illusion of my hair being curly all over.

I didn't wear my hair up because I have a very high forehead and I don't look good with my hair up.
thanks for the advice, we will try that!

What a shame. I have had stylists do the same thing...say they knew one method and did another.

sonny,

Do not panic babe..all will turn out well. On my wedding day I went to a stylist so she could do my hair..she was suppose to trim my bangs and enhance my natural curls. She enhanced my natural curls but left my front a frizzy mess (Basically ratted it and hair sprayed it). No kidding! Here's what had happened.

I had to go to her house the morning of my wedding...I had to pay her up front which was not part of the original agreement, but being as it was the morning of my wedding I was in no position to argue. So I paid her..she styled my hair...didn't even show it to me..and left in a hurry asking me to lock her door on the way out cuz she was late for another job. Oh My Goodness!!!! I was so horrified when I finally saw my bangs in my car mirror. I was so upset, but I kept my cool, drove home, wetted my bangs, trimmed them and curled them myself and no one was any the wiser. Not to mention I told evey single woman I knew what had happened and never to go to that stylist.

On another note, most men really do not care about your hair..some do but many don't. If ya ask them they'll answer but for the most part it really truly does not matter to them. Wear your hair however it looks best to you. You look good to yourself, you feel good from it and you become radiant. See where I am going with this. If YOU feel good about how you look it will shine through and in that instant you will be the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
Corkicelli Now! YAY! Now all I have to do is update my avy pic.
