Default Anyone NOT like Re:coil???

I am still evaluating this stuff, but so far, I don't know if I can justify dropping $19 for it again. It certainly isn't working miracles for me thus far.....

Anyone else?

-DC1C, JCGLS, Natural Glycerine for clarifying
-Deva Cuts better for me when shorter (shoulder). Ouidad cuts are EVIL for me.
-When long: BSRHG, Deva BLeaveIn, JCRR
When shorter: Deva BLeaveIn, DevaCurl Foam.

Meh results here. I have had about 3 tries with it and where curls go it certainly does its job, however it is not an HG for me by any means...But that being said I still have yet to try it in warmer weather so I will reserve final judgement for later this summer. I know for certain that I need a gel with it. I have too much hair and poof to go without. I think that I will use the rest of the tube in experimenting but prob won't buy it again unless I can get it for half off or something. I couldn't justify the $17 again unless it was a HUGE HG for me.

The salon I bought it in said that many people use it together with Plastique (which is CG friendly, but not listed here in CurlMart)...and love them together..but that stuff is expensive, too..so I don't know what to do!

I've been wanting to try it. I've read a couple posts where they use it after leave-in condish and before Joiwhip Mousse. I currently use a leave-in and Joiwhip. I like the results I get now but wish I had a little less frizz. I'm still anxious to give it a try. I didn't realize it was that expensive! Once I get mine I'll let you know how it worked. I'm sorry you are not happy with your results, especially at that price.

I've been experimenting with it this past week and am very disappointed. The only plus side is that it made me realize how much of a HG my Rusk CurlSilk texture control creme is!

The re:coil made my hair appear so thin! Very stringy and hard. Yuck. I definitely recommend trying the rusk.

Hmmm...maybe I'm not so anxious to try it now.

I've been using this for 5 days. First I used it alone, then it was suggested that I was using too much, about the size of a quarter, and was recommended to start with a pea. I have been using JCRR for the past 2 days after applying recoil. I have also changed to using just a pea size amt. One thing I have noticed is that I have frizz, something I have not had before using this. I have had the frizz since I started using this. I think I'lll use it for a few more days then put it aside if results are the same. Maybe in a month when the humidity starts getting higher I will see better results.

How much re:coil did you use and did you use any type of hold product over it?

This is about how I use it, and I love it. I alternate leave-ins and gel/mousse, but recoil is ALWAYS my middle product. I've been using it daily for almost a year, and I still love it!

About a pea size amount... I tried it alone and that was too much frizz. So i tried it with a minimal amount of gel and it just thinned my hair.

I kept trying re:coil and it never worked for me. Then I finally tried raking it into soaking wet hair. Then I twist my hair up in a towel for a few minutes and then add gel. Now re:coil is one of my HGs!

I am on my second tube, the first one I wasn't so sure about. But I was bound and determined to make this work. I use about a quarter size and mix it with Ouidad Climate control gel and I am getting third day hair. If I use it with Joiwhip I only use about a nickel size and no gel that usually works in the less humid months. I have shoulder length 3c hair.

It did make my hair slightly curlier, springier, tighter curled. But the magnesium sulfate in it dried out my hair and made it feel tacky and kinda sticky - just like it would on the beach with all the salt water in it. jessicurl products do the same for me. Whilst i LOVE beach hair cos the salt really does make my curls spring out into perfectly defined coils, the feeling of it is just horrible. Really gritty/sticky/dry/tacky. Hard to explain but not worth it for the look unless I was doing a photoshoot alone or something and could wash it straight out after. (not that i ever do photo shoots )

I'll chime in on the "like it" side just to keep things balanced. I love re:coil and use it almost everytime I style. It doesn't really make my hair curlier, but it helps a lot with clumping. I usually use a quarter-sized blob (although I just got my hair cut quite a bit shorter yesterday so I'll probably have to decrease that) and sometimes mix a little boots with it. Then I layer joiwhip mousse or something else over it for hold. I don't find it drying at all, but I also don't think it lessens frizz either if that's what you're looking for.

Just my two cents worth!

I am not that crazy about it either. I like more of a cream texture. I don't know why it does not seem to work for me. And I just bought two bottles on Ebay
Quixotic, where do you get your Rusk CurlSilk texture control creme? Does this have any silicones in it? Thanks.

And again.....I am having another YUCK hair-day with this re:coil!! Today it feels like I have lotion slathered in my hair...truly doesn't feel like hair...but more like..well, like lotion is slathered in it.

I am now on the verge of trying to swap/sell it, I think. Sad! I barely used the stuff and now I want rid of it!
