Default ...So I'm off CG

Today I was at Kroger and they had the new Organix line of shampoo and CO. I saw the dimethicone in the CO and immediatly put it down but then kept eyeing it (the poo is very gentle sulfate, if any). Finally I caved in and bought the Citrus Mango curling line. I washed and CO'd for a few min, scrunched in re:coil and joiwhip, scrunched with a tshirt and diffused. I have volume, shine, a few spirals, and almost zero frizz! Of course the top layer of hair was still filled with those lovely only slightly wavy pieces but those are always there.

I hope this lasts!

I do hope your new routine keeps working because it's a great feeling to fell happy with our hair and we all need to do something that makes our life easier, not the opposite. As long as you continue to practice some of the healthier ways of treating your curls hopefully learned from CG and don't shampoo more often than really necessary your hair may continue to respond well. After all, even if CG didn't give you great results, by being gentler on your hair if you did it for a while it probably improved its condition, which would help anything else you do now to work for you.

Just out of curiosity, how long were you on CG and what was your main complaint?

I've been on CG since the beginning of january. While I liked the condition that my hair was in, and some of the curl enhancement that I was getting over time, I generally prefer a little more volume than I was getting with the CG routine. I have learned a lot more about taking care of my hair though!!

I would say be careful not to fall in an all out shampooing routine b/c this may still dry your hair out. I understand wanting to go from total CG routine to wanting to shampoo again, but shampooing daily is still going to dry your hair out. Why don't you try this routine while only shampooing once or twice a week.

Oh I totally don't plan on shampooing daily! It'll probably only be a 2 or 3 day a week thing.
