So I bought the reformulated BRHG

I've been to a few drugstores looking for the new formula, and I just found it at CVS. I need to try it out to see how it works, in case I need to stock up on the old formula! I'm very excited and had to share it with someone, and anyone else but NC posters would think I'm nucking futs.

I'll give an update once I get to try it out.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
I'm an avid BRHG user and was devastated when they reformulated. I bought the new one a while back and have used it a few times... there are a lot more ingredients and a more prominent protein, which my hair can't handle. The stronger protein overconditions me and ruins the hold of the gel. I have stocked up on the old formula (found it at Kroger) and will cry when I run out.

But, there is hope! If the new formula BRHG doesn't work for you, Laurabeth33 suggested to me that Back to Nature Rosemary Mint Clean Gel is a very similar gel. I've used it a few times now and have to say it is a very close match. It has the same exact ingredients as the old BRHG but obviously in different amounts, since the texture of the gel is different. The Back to Nature gel has a bit less stickyness and hold but you can always use more to get a similar effect as the BRHG.

Hope that helps! I'm looking forward to hearing Gemini13's review when she tries it out.

OK. Sadly, I'm not thrilled with this. Now, I'm almost out of re:coil, so it's possible that when I get my new tube and am able to use a bit more of it, the BRHG will work better. I'll keep my fingers crossed. But so far it doesn't seem like this new formula is quite as curl-enhancing, as some spots are much less curly than normal. A bit fuzzier too. But I'll try it again once I have more re:coil and see how it goes...

Lauraloo- have you used Abba Weightless in the summer? I bought a bottle of it and usually get really good results, I'm just wondering how it holds up in the humidity...

It seems like my hair is a mutant... no matter what I use it seems like I never can get enough hold! I hope it works for you.
