Wow there's another one on here! YAY! I'm a Columbia girl!
Unfortunately, I too can't find a good one. I'm going to try one from the salon recs on this site, though. Someone suggested Pia & Steve's Chris I believe. But check out curlsalons on the links, and let me know if you find someone good please! And I'm happy to meet you and know you're in the same boat as I down here in Cola town lol. I thought maybe it was just me hehe.
Well maybe I should just tell you who not to go to lol. Then maybe we can narrow down a salon by collaboration.
I've tried Image Makers, Aussie, Ego, J Thomas, Mane Event, Ashley's Alley,...I think that may be it. I was in Greenville for awhile for college and before that I didn't know or care much about my hair. I hope this helps some!
I'm thinking about trying either Chris or a guy named Dennis at Columbia's the salon. My friends are straighties too so I know how that is. One of my straight haired gals tho swears by this Dennis guy. She thinks he can do anything. So I'm considering.
Oh and I also went to the Belk carmen carmen salon in columbiana mall. I wasn't impressed with them either. I tried Elante in lexington about two years ago. Kayla was pretty good, but I never had a real cut from her...just a dusting. I mainly went to her for the phytorelaxer. My hair got wave back within a month, so I didn't keep that up. Oh well...back to the drawing board haha.
I have the same problem with finding some one to cut my hair without completely straightening it. I was considering Belk's Carmen Carmen. I guess I won't go now. Has anyone tried the Aveda training Institute in Charlotte?
No but the Carmen Carmen in Belk at South Park Mall is a lot better. Ask for Jennifer if she still works there....this was a few years ago. I just don't feel like going 1.5 hours for a haircut every month or two lol.
I couldn't bring myself to travel t Charlotte just for a haircut either! With all the salons in this city, there has to be someone who knows what the heck they are doing! I have been to Carmen Carmen in Columbiana. They were ok, but I was not in love and it took 4 hours from start to finish to do my hair! I color my hair because I am going gray and am not even 30! That is depressing enough. I used to go to someone and could probably find him if I wanted but he stiffed a friend of mine (he was supposed to do her hair for her wedding portrait and didn't show up). I wish I didn't have morals!
