Question about my haircut on Saturday

I'm going in for a trim on Saturday, with a stylist I had good results with in the past. My last cut (with her) was in October plus I've straightened a handul of times, so I've got a lot of split ends that need to be chopped.

When I went to her last time, she not only did a good cut but she also did a decent styling job. I had very soft, frizz-free curls that lasted me a good few days. My only complaint with the way she styled it last time was that my hair was a pretty straight/flat at the roots, whereas when I do it myself I get more curl and volume at the roots.

I don't know if I'll have time to redo my hair when I get home on Saturday, because I have family coming into town plus my nephew's birthday party later in the day. I'd love it if she did my hair exactly like last time except with more curl and volume at the roots. Is there anything I can ask her to do to help combat this problem? I don't think I can flip upside down in the chair the whole time she's diffusing because it's becoming uncomfortable with my pregnant belly.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Would it pay to talk to her about it?
I've had that happen and found that mentioning it made a difference. She probably knows how to do it, but just thought it looked better her way. Maybe.
I had a guy make me stand up and flip my head over while he cut the front pieces, as well as when he diffused the front/top part. Kind of goofy feeling, all standing up at the hair salon, but if that would be easier than trying to bend over while sitting in the chair.

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.
Thanks for the replies. I think I will mention something, and see if she has any tricks up her sleeve.

Now, I just need to decide about the cut. My plan was to just get a trim, but I'm kind of tempted to do a little more layers and some face-framing pieces...

Most stylists have a volumizer on their shelf that they can add to your roots to get boost, our salon's current favorite is Aquage's Uplifting Foam.
