Default Bad Hairstyling Experience/Nubest Salon in Manhasset LI

Hello,

I just wanted to alert the naturally curly members of a bad hair styling experience I had an Nubest Salon in Manhasset, LI with Arlene.

I brought a picture, I told her I just wanted the shape/length like the picture. I told her I wear my hair wavy. She proceeded to razor cut my hair.

Then she insisted on having my hair blown out straight to check the haircut. I explained to her that I wear my hair wavy, I do not wear my hair straight. She could tell I was unhappy with blowing my hairstraight, but she had it done anyway. She said this was the only way she could check the haircut.

After the hair assistant finished blowing drying it straight, she checked the haircut. The hair assistant then scrunched my hair and made it very poofy.

This was my second time at the salon. I just do not understand why she had to blow it out straight. I will not return to the salon. She had curly hair herself so I don't understand why she would do this. She wouldn't want big poofy hair.

It is my fault that I did not travel to the city for a better place. I'm wondering, has this ever happened to other wavy or curly patrons?

Regards,

Lime,

I came home and rewashed my hair. It seems a little straighter and frizzier than usual. Probably from being straightened by a hot blow dryer. I think I will be ok if I moisturize a lot.

I just didn't like the whole haircutting experience. Why would I want my hair straightened if I brought a picture of a girl with curly hair? I was just showing the shape and length of the hair style. I knew my hair could never be as curly as the picture.

I saw a line of haircare products on QVC. It is by Chaz Dean, the line is the revitalizing line. It has Tree Tree Oil. He has a styling cream, conditioner, and oil. I think I am going to splurge and buy the product.

I think the problem really comes down to it is someone with curly hair has no clue how to style and cut wavy hair. The texture is not the same.

What products and methods that work for curly hair do not work for wavy hair. Back to the drawing board again. I think I will have to venture back into Manhattan again.

Scorpiocurls; I believe the frizziness comes from the razor being used..I found after my razor haircut i had to use more products than just my Angell. The Sebastain Xtah twisted taffy is my HG when i was growing out my razor cut..it is not CG but i low poo once a week...
