Applying a combination of products

This is cross-posted from a re:coil topic on the product reviews thread...I thought it might get more opinions over here...

So let's see if I can consolidate this from stuff I've read on three or four different threads...I've just splurged on a lot of the 'favs' all at once and I'd rather have an idea of what *generally* works for most folks before I just starting throwing things at my hair all willy-nilly...

Step 1: anti-frizz (leave-in in the winter, CK in the summer)
Step 2: curl enhancement (re:coil)
Step 3: hold agent (gel, or mousse)

Does that sound about right, and in that order? (assuming you use all three types of products)

Also, one of my buys was the Jessicurl trial pack, which I think has RR and CCSS. Where do those fall? (frizz control, enhancement, hold)

Thanks!

RR is a good curl enhancer and has no hold. CCSS is also curl enhancing, has frizz control and some hold, although I would have to use a stronger gel on top because it isn't near enough hold for me personally.

Thanks...would you use them together? (of course their website says to ), or pick one then put a gel on top for hold?

Anyone else as far as the routine/product combo goes?

I think I've mentioned this before - I will sometimes mix my gel and CK in a container together so that they emulsify, then put that mixture on top of Re:Coil. It works well for me, and saves me a step. Also works to thin out gels that may be thicker than you would like.
Thanks for the tip - my CK just arrived in the mail yesterday *yippeee*, so I can't wait to try it today. From the pics I had thought it was a spray-on, but it looks to be just a tad too thick to spray. I'm going to try mixing it with the gel first, and then maybe watering it down just a teeny bit and putting it in a spray bottle.

It seems that those who like the Jessicurl products use them in all different combos so you probably just need to see what works for you. I can't use the RR or the CCSS without a stronger gel on top because my hair will just go limp; guess there's too much oil for my hair.

Also, Jess has said that if you're going to mix any of her products with water to only do it with the amount you're going to use that day. Don't mix up the whole bottle with water; it could mess up the product.

curlyniner - these are the products I use & the same order I use them in. For winter, I use a leave-in, re:coil, & mousse; in summer, I use CK (as my leave-in), JC RR (curl enhancer), then a very strong hold gel (BRHG). Have fun experimenting
