What gives you intense moisture?

My hair is really really parched. My stylist says he's never seen anything like it. He put a ton of product on my hair, and it did nothing...no shine or moisture. I've been using Ojon restorative treatment....it's done nothing either. Is there anything that is really hardcore for moisture that I can use? Thanks!
Are you shampooing? When I'm shampooing, I just can not keep moisture in my hair. No matter how many deep treatments I do, or how much I condition, I get nothing. I went off shampoo completely for a few months, and now I'll do an occasional shampoo to get rid of any build up.

I also have chemically damaged hair, so I use Nexxus Emergencee every couple of weeks to repair the damage. If you're using Ojon, and that isn't even keeping your hair moisturized, I'd say there was another culprit.

You could try the CG method, which is good for dry hair. I don't know what it does to curls as loose as yours, but it made my hair more curly.

Do you do deep treatments, intensive conditioning with heat? I did them once a week, and also did a hot oil treatment once a week, and after about 9 months my hair was so completely saturated that I didn't need to do them anymore.

I'd also say lots and lots of moisturizing conditioner left in, except that your curls are so loose my guess would be that too much leave-in conditioner would weigh your curls down.
i used ojon last year and it dried out my hair -looked greasy, but felt dry. i am not sure why...maybe the oils coated my fine hair and prevented moisture from getting in? my hair doesnt do well with oils. makes it more dry.
My hair is one that loves oils I am discovering. It soaks the Jessicurl Too Shea right up too. My hair is also much healthier and curlier since cutting way down on sulphates.

I love doing DT's!! I love Jessicurl's Weekly DT and Curl Junkies Banana Hibiscus one. I really think Jessicurl's is extremely moisturizing and when I need alot of moisture in the winter I use Too Shea every time I wet my hair.

Those 2 Jessicurl products are really the only thing that helps when my hair is very parched.
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.
What gives my hair lots of moisture is Cantu shea butter leave in conditioning repair cream. I hate the smell but it moisturizes like no other.
Shake a Little!!
I used Ojon restorative treatment before. It is moisturizing. My guess is that your hair does not like this product or there is something else that you're doing that your hair does not like. Mixing an avocado and olive oil works just as well as Ojon, IMO. My fave moisturizer is JC Too Shea. For DTs, I usually use Too Shea or Suave conditioner mixed with olive oil and a few drops of rosemary oil. You can substitute almond oil for olive oil. HTH
I agree with Kimmy - jessicurl's weekly treatment is great

Another thing is, if you're using silicones, especially the dreaded cyclopentasiloxane, the moisture of something like Ojon won't get into your hair, and will just coat the outside. Slathering oil ontop of hair coated w/ silicones is going to give it a weird feeling.

Cutting way down on sulfates is the best way to get the moisture up in your hair. Also, reducing the use of silicones since they are going to coat your hair, and not allow moisture in.

As I said before, if you're constantly using sulfates, and then coating with silicones, you're really not going to get any moisture into your hair.

Oh thank you so much for all the suggestions! I started CG and it's definitely helping! My hair is much more moisturized! Maybe I'll try the Ojon treatment again in another week.
the cg method works pretty good. i used a stupid shampoo the other day and it left a patch of my hair straight and dry (not sure how that happened), but if i just stick with using conditioner and deep conditioning on the weekends, my hair is baby soft and curly. i also do hot oil treatments as well. along with it finally retaining moisture, i also have no breakage. the cg method is great!

I'm glad CG is working for you; it really helped to moisturize my hair. After 8 months of mod-CG I can style my hair dry the day after shampooing/condition-washing and sometimes the day after that. Never in my life have I been able to do that even when my hair was relaxed down to a 3c texture. Hair was too dry.

I still shampoo about 2x a month with a gentle non-sulfate shampoo, and I use Ojon RHT (love it). Last week I started rubbing a little oil on my wet ends after shampoo/conditioning, and before styling with gel -- feels and looks wonderful when dry and totally not greasy. I'm using castor oil and will try tamanu oil next.
