Default The Frizz Cure?

Ok...they've been advertising for a story on the 11 news, so I looked it up. It's supposed to be for curly and straight hair a like. It's not designed to change the texture, it's just supposed to keep the frizzies at bay. So what do you guys think? It's supposed to be $75 for short hair $150 for longer hair

http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?se...eck&id=5272112

any thoughts?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

wow neat treament for curly hair , i get a glaze deep treatment once a month to every few months or so to tame my curls , it makes them shiny and it helps the hair/curls to lay better and even if i decided to straighten it too. it does work quiet well . i would love to try this out if the price was cheaper since it seems like the same thing , the ony thing is my treatment only cost $20.

Interesting. It sounds kind of like a perma-silicone, except you wouldn't need sulfates to wash it out, since it's not supposed to be washed out! I'm curious what it's made of, and how it would effect your hair in the long run. The price doesn't seem bad, considering the fact that you only have to get it done twice a year.

Yeah...I know...it's interesting. I'll have to look into it more. I would only worry about possible damage, and the fact that you need to grow it out. You would have to get your roots touched up or...I guess they would be frizzy.

Wow! That sounds great! I'm just wondering if it is a silicone and would it thus prevent your hair from retaining moisture from condishes and the air and such? If not, I would definitely do it!!

I wonder what the ingredients to this stuff is? It really does sound interesting and I liked how the hair looks straight or curly. The wavey/straighty with the dark hair, her hair looked gorgeous, so glossy and soft. And the curly's hair looked a lot healthier too. Didn't look frizzy, the curls looked more defined...yeah he used a diffuser but her hair looked softer. $150 is to me but I guess it's not too bad if only necessary twice a year.

tinycurlyd, what type of glaze treatment is it that you do?? You get it at a salon or is it something you do yourself at home? $20 bucks is a nice steal, do you have to do it often though?

ETA: I ran a google search on this and I see that the frizz cure treatments are available in salons in PA, MD and VA.

Yeah...thankfully there is a Salaon here in Philly that offers it. I woondered the same thing about the seal, if it seals you're hair from moisutre so it doesn't frizz, then how does your hair get any moisture and not be dry and brittle?

DominicanaHeat : the glaze i get it done at my friends salon , i wish i could do it at home, its easy . just put some in like the other treatment , comb thru , i stay under the dryer with wrap for mabye 20-30 mins depending.. then wash out and style , i get it done once a month , but sometimes im busy so i tend to forget. but its a condish treatment and it basically makes my hair/curls shiny , lay better no frizz..been getting it for 2 yrs and love it , i know when im due 4 one when my hair doesnt wanna coroperate or lay right/get frizzys or ppl dont compliment how shiny my curls are lol. it lasts for a month..

That sounds so good! I wonder if any salons here in NYC do it too...what's the name of the product?

Hm i have to ask , i think its by PM but not sure , ill ask when i go in next time.. i really dont need a DT after i get this done..sometimes i might just put in any condish in dry hair and sleep on it and rinse out in the morning ever so often but thats about it. this glaze pretty much takes care of my DT needs. oh and u can get color glazes if u want for a change.. i have done a glaze of a darker brown , to a brown/reddish color...washes out the same in a month , since i have honey highlights i just get the clear glaze no color this last time, when i go to vegas in june im getting another one , that way my curls dont get ruined/dryed out by the pool chlorine or the hot sun there.

OK, I didn't have a chance to watch the video yesterday, but I just took a look at it... I'm not that impressed. The curly one was a bit frizzed when she went in, but I bet a few weeks on NC would have taken care of that. It could just be the way their hair was styled after the treatment, but both women lost a lot of volume. I guess that would be a plus for some, but I like my hair to be full.

I found their website:

http://www.frizzcure.com/front.swf

The demo and testimonial videos really annoy me... they keep talking about how the girl couldn't comb her hair, she couldn't even (*gasp!*) run her fingers through it!!! Dude, it's curly. Just because you can't comb it dry doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

I'd be more impressed if I saw a before and after pic of someone who actually knew how to take proper care of her curls before going in for the treatment.

Nope but if you google frizz cure there are several salon results, but they were all located in PA, VA and MD.

tinycurlyd, I'm still curious to know about that glaze I've always been curious about glazes so any info that you find out would be greatly appreciated

I'm going to get this Frizz Cure thing done tomorrow in Philly. I saw the news story on TV too and called in the next week - they were already booked up through the month of May! Craziness. Anyway, I've been dealing with the curls since puberty changed my straight-with-body hair into this absolute mess. After about 10 years of working at it, we've finally come to terms with eachother, me and my curls. I fall somewhere between 3a and 3b depending on length - I suppose I'm more 3b right now since my hair just touches my shoulders and is layered. It's pretty fine when straightened which I rarely do (maybe 4 times a year?) and pretty soft since I try my best to keep heat and styling damage to a minimum.

I'm a newbie to the forum, and it's FANTASTIC to see all the things I had to learn for myself (don't touch, let it air dry, constantly trying new products) outlined in a really simple and straightforward way in the newbies forum. If only I had found you ten years ago! I'll take before and after pictures - I'm having a rather spectacular curl day today, but the humidity still managed to warp the top layer into a halo of velcro around my head. *sigh* Stupid summer, I'm ready for that snow stuff again. Anyway, this is getting long, but I'll be sure to update you after I come home and wash it for myself after the treatment! SO EXCITED!
