help... getting a devachan cut!

Hello everyone... I am getting ready to get a Devachan cut. I am looking for some stylist recommendations from people who have had hair cuts there. Also, what is an average price for a haircut? I am only looking for a cut (not color etc). I've been doing the curly girl routine for a while and it's worked quite well for my hair and I've decided it's time to get a nice haircut while I will be in NYC. Thanks for all of your help!
I recently got my hair cut by a deva-trained stylist in my area. She charges about $80-90, I think less after the first cut ($70?). She took her time and my hair is really growing out nicely, and it's been over 10 weeks or so. Usually by now, it's needing another trim to keep the layers in shape.

Good luck!

Carlos is great. Expect to pay more than $100.00. For me, it was worth every penny.
Thick 3c/4a
Goal: BSL curls!
DevaCurl One C, Biotera Styling Gel, unrefined Shea butter, Honey, EVOO, Coconut oil, ACV rinses
I was going to Melissa and she charged $95. I have decided though to switch to a deva trained stylist in Brooklyn who charges less, $65, Casey at Beehive. While it is good to go once to deva their prices go up and up and presently I am disenchanted with that. But if you haven't gone there, go for the experience, Melissa, Carlos, Anna, Jackie all have good reviews.
Hair type, thin, 3b, past my shoulders always looking for length. Use jessicurl hair cleansing cream, devacurl one c, angel, set it free, Always see a deva trained stylist for cut and Aveda Institute for color.
I went two weeks ago to the salon on Broome Street. I just got a cut, no color, by Julie for $120.

She is very nice and I am extremely happy with my hair! (first cut in six years!)

Wow I've heard a lot about devachan on these boards! Is it a chain or is it just one place in New York? Can anyone tell me some of the techniques they use for cutting curly hair?
I have an appt in June with Carlos who is now 130.00. I remeber when I first started going to him 5 years ago, he just "left" Lorraine, he was only 80.00.

Sigh...Wondering if I should try Anna instead.

When I went to Carlos 4 or 5 years ago he was $50 and now I hear he is $130.
Re: Casey at Beehive, when I walked out it was very good. I liked the style and cut, but as the time went on I couldn't maintain it well. With Devachan theydon't style it that well but the cut is fine and I just fix it my way. However, I want to give Casey another try. I think I will talk with her about it. She is very down to earth and I think she is worth a tryas Devachan just is so expensive. Every time you go there it is more practically. If money is no object than go to Devachan as the ambience is nice and laying down when your hair is being cleaned but it isn't worth it to me for at least $30 cheaper at Beehive. Beehive is a cute place and kind of more no thrills but they use the products and Casey is very attentive.
