Default Jordan Sparks on Idol - Curly or no?

I keep going back and forth on her - sometimes I think she is naturally curly - but last night she had this straight piece that with her hair seemed out of place. But then they showed pics when young and she was CURLY!!!

She definitely looks like a natural curly to me.

I agree, natural curls. Sometimes I think it doesn't look like she takes great care of them because she does have the ends drop out and look straight when they interview her off-set in her natural setting.

Anyway, on the night that she said the song that summed her up was "I'm So Excited", she gave the example "like tonight, I was straightening my hair and I said, 'Ooooh I'm straightening my hair, I'm so excited!'". So I guess shes naturally curly.

I must have missed that night when she mentioned straightening it. It was weird to me to see someone with so much curl have a straight piece - I thought it was just light 3/2 mixes that had that issue.

I've noticed, too, how the ends drop out, but I also think she's definitely a natural curly. I bet it's damaged on the ends from the straightening. Whichever, she's a gorgeous, talented girl, that's for sure!

I wish I knew her hair routine and the products she uses. I love her curly hair.

She's naturally curly. If you watched Idol last night(or maybe it was the night before), they showed baby pics of everyone, and Jordin had a head-full of curly hair(with lighter tips) as a child. I think that they've just straightened her hair so much that the ends are damaged and lost some of its curl. It happens. The stylist just needs to do a better job of protecting her curls if they are going to keep on straightening her hair.

I sometimes wonder if she is transitioning? Maybe she relaxed years ago and just let it go. Her ends looks awfully straight sometimes. Anyway, I love her hair!

That's what I think too. She probably did it when she was in her early teens. This picture was back when she was a model for Torrid.com. Her hair looks like it had some sort of texture process done, the curls look very undefined, almost wavey, but if you look at her roots, you can see she her natural curl pattern growing in:

She was so cute as a kid, she was right when she said she looked exactly the same, just 'mini'

ETA: Here's another pre AI picture where her curls look more relax but are growing in:
