Bed head

I have medium coarse, long curly blonde hair. How do you all deal with frizzy, flat bed head? I would like to wear my hair open every day, but the bed head is just incorrigible, and I don't have time to primp every day.

I sleep on a satin pillow, and I tried a night cap, which barely helped. I think I just toss and turn too much when I sleep (judging from the blankets on the floor).

This is driving me nuts because I have to tie my hair up on days when I don't wash it, and tying it up ends up breaking/pulling out lots of hairs. I guess I could use a clip instead, any other suggestions? Maybe a different kind of tie that goes easy on curls?
Edited due to a cyberstalker. Sorry, guys.

I always have to do a loose ,very high "pineappled french twist". I am a bedroller. Doing a normal (medium high) ponytail would only result in crushed ,flat curls.

Maybe you want to try that.
Take care
I do a loose pineapple with a fabric scrunchie to sleep.
In the a.m. I hop in the shower with my hair still in the pineapple. No shower cap. I do keep my hair out of the water, but if it gets sprayed
it's no big deal.
When I'm out of the shower, I take out the pineapple and shake my head and scrunch and let it dry. If some spots are limp or flat I spray with mister right and scrunch.

I even got a compliment a couple of minutes ago and I'm on 3rd day hair.

I believe I am between a 2c and a 3a. My hair definitely has bounce, but some of my hairs that come out are pretty straight, while others look like coiled slinkies. All I do when I shower is condition, comb out the ends with a plastic wide tooth comb, wrap my hair in a towel, and then scrunch my hair with green Garnier curl stuff and let it dry, and I get halfway decent curls with that. The worst part is at the crown of my head, it's always straight and frizzy.

I do use satin scrunchies and they are better than pony ties but they still come out with handfuls of hair...

What "curl refreshing spray" do you use? I tried a mixture of conditioner and water in a spray bottle, but the result is flat and frizzy all over.
My hair sounds similar to yours runderwo, especially the part about the top of your head! I just got my hair cut yesterday (LOVE IT), and my stylist gave me some tips for second day hair. She takes Mister Right and sprays a good amount into her hands. She then puts her hands under her hair and moves them up until she's at the top of her scalp. W/ the Mister Right in her hands, she kinds scrubs her scalp, to help move the curls around a bit and also to kinda "clean" the scalp (I hope that makes sense, if not please let me know and I'll try to explain it again! ).

Once she does that to her whole head, she sprays some Mister Right on the rest of her hair, scrunches a bit and if needed uses some Set It Free. Her hair looked awesome yesterday, and I tried it this morning and my hair looks pretty great too.

She's a Deva stylist so obviously those are the products she is going to use, but I think the technique holds up. If you didn't want to use Mister Right, you could always make your own lavender water and use that.

Does the lavender in the water make a difference or is it just for the scent? I will give this a try.
From my understanding, lavender helps to clean your hair. So, while it does smell v. pretty, it does have some practical benefits as well.

This is only a quick-fix, but have you tried putting your hair up in a half-pony? It masks the flatness and increases the volume at the top of your head a little when you take it out at the end of the day (I use a light spritz of hairspray to keep any wispy strands in place, but I don't think it hurts with the volume).

Also, it's easier (and better for your hair) if you use little 1-inch claw hairclips instead of an elastic band.

Hope that helps!
2a/M-C/ii hair. Super long.
