Default Deva Curl Low Poo-yuck for me?

I've only used Deva Curl Low Poo twice but it seems to be weighing my fine hair down and leaving it sort-of greasy looking. (Almost as if it's too conditioning for me). I read the product reviews for it and one other person said this also. My hair also takes much longer to air dry after I've used it.

Since it was a bit expensive I may try adding in a little sulfate-containing shampoo. I'm wondering if I can mix two shampoos or will wind up creating some kind of science experiment in my hair? (I planned on mixing them right before I use them, not combining two entire bottles).

Do you have the DevaCurl or the DevaCare? I find the DevaCare does leave it a bit greasy after a few weeks of use. But iniially it takes all the frizz out and leaves it smooth and shiny, which I like. DevaCurl seems to clean it better and leave it curlier. Right now, I'm switching between the two on alternating days.

I'm having the same problem. I've only used it twice (the DevaCare one). I was drawn to it because it says it's safe for color treated hair. I'm going to try going less on the conditioner tomorrow and see what happens.

I'm using the Deva Curl one. (I color my hair, hope this choice is ok). I shampoo daily and have been adding just a drop of a sulfate-containing shampoo with the low poo. My hair doesn't look quite so weighed down/greasy-looking. I'm using less conditioner too.

I know low poo is good for my hair, so I'll use up the bottle but I don't think I will re-purchase.

The greasyness could be caused by the other products you are using. What Conditioner and styling products do you use?

I use Elucence conditioner and Jessicurl CCSS or Regis Curl Lock Cream. (The Regis on humid days) That's it. I only notice the coated feeling/weighed down look after I've used the low poo. I've never noticed it with any other products I've ever tried. I think I am going ot put it on the swap board.

That regis product has a cone in it. It could be that low poo isn't getting it out. Cones seal up the hair and on me that means my conditioner sits on top and looks greasy rather than does it's job on my hair.
Now I'm not anti cone I'm just saying that you may need the sulfate to get that one out.

I've been alternating the Low Poo with Elucence poo and then one time a week a harsher sulfate shampoo, so that should be getting out the cone. Or at least I hoped it would.

Maybe it's just that my hair is so baby fine it can't handle the castor oil and the cone in the low poo itself?

I'm not using DevaCurl but the DevaCARE one and was having the same issues. It's like I'm overconditioned or something. So for the past 2 days I've just been using enough conditioner (Suave Aloe and Waterlilly) to co wash and that's it! Rinse that out well and then use the Suave Anti frizz curl cream and I've found that my hair isn't dry or oily and I'm getting great curls. Finally. LOL It'll last until tomorrow like most of my routine successes.

Hmm you're right those should handle the cone.
I use the low poo to keep my hair from looking greasy from conditioner in the hot months so I'm mystified. Sorry I wasn't more help

I really have better luck with No Poo over Low Poo. In the past when I used Low Poo I had some times when it left my hair feeling not so clean. No Poo never does that for me even though it's conditioner like in consistency and doesn't suds at all. I prefer the Devacurl line over the Devacare line too.
