Found a deva stylist 1 hour away!

I can't believe it ... I just checked the devaconcepts website and there is a stylist (actually 2) that is 1 hour away from me! I am going to call and see what they charge...roadtrip! I am excited. I have been wanting a deva cut for so long. I am just trying to grow my hair and don't want much off at all, hopefully they would be able to keep my length.

That's so wonderful! You are going to have to take before and after pictures! I know the feeling. I was just going through a pity party about how there aren't any deva trained stylists in my area yesterday. But then a beautiful curlie(that I won't embarrass again by naming ) sent me the deva link and when I looked again there are two within an hour from me as well! They must have updated the list somewhat recently. Is this going to be your first deva cut?
Yep, it will be my first! I am going to have to plan carefully, with the gas prices, it's going to cost me $$ just to get there, but I hope they don't charge an arm and a leg for the haircut. I'll definitely take some pics before and after. I may let my hair grow out another month or so, I don't know. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and see how much it costs. If it's a lot, I may wait til my birthday around September...but I don't want to!

Are you going to get a deva cut?

I really am hoping your haircut goes well too! I cannot imagine any cut making your hair look bad though.

The next time I get my hair trimmed I will definitely go there. The last time(and every time) that I've gotten my hair cut they took off way more than I asked for, so I'm just really trying to space out how often I get my hair cut. I'm very excited that there are two deva trained hair stylists in my area though. It gives me hope that this could be the first hair cut I've ever really loved!

I'm hoping that you'll be willing to be the guinea pig and get your hair cut first, then maybe I won't be such a chicken. :P
Isnt it exciting!!! I went to my Deva consultation last night (after finding the salon on the deva site too!). They have it set up where the consult is $18 but she washes, conditions and styles your hair at the consult. They figure they get a good idea of your hair by doing that before they actually do the cut. She was very friendly and she has very nice curly hair! She low poo'd me, then used one C and then she tried arc angel (I have used angel) and because I typically diffuse she did too. She used paper towels to scrunch - they buy the paper towels in bulk - the ones you see in the paper towel dispenser in bathrooms that come out one sheet at a time. She says they work as good and are much less $.

She diffused me laying back a bit because I am trying to get my hair to go back off my face so it was not as full as when I do it but it was curly all the way to the roots which was pretty neat.

I am rambling but anyways I made my hair cut appt - it's not until the 29th but I cannot wait!

I don't know how they'll improve on your hair but I hope the haircut is a wonderful experience! You're so lucky to have one that near you!

Me, too! I wanna see pics when you go! I'm with MH, though; your hair is already so gorgeous I can't imagine what they can do to make it look any better! I drive over an hour to my stylist and it's definitely worth the trip (and the gas!) to go to a stylist you're really happy with.

I'm sending you "Absolutely Fabulous Curly Hairstylist" vibes!

That is weird that you'd get their answering machine on a Saturday. Hopefully, it was because they are super busy - that would be a good sign.

That is a bit odd but it could be as MsG noted - too busy to answer the phone. Can you do a search for them under city search for the city they are in to see if they are listed and have any reviews? I use that site quite a bit and have found some great places that way - not just salons.

I have to travel about 45 min to get a deva cut. It's worth it. Good luck!

Ok, I talked to a lady at the salon and she was SOOO nice -- gave me all the details about what they do and that they use the products...they are all in curly mode there -- they recently held an open house and did cuts on people and passed out samples, etc...I wish I would have been there for that! Anyway, they are really reasonably priced and I told her I would be calling her back to make an appt because I have to set that day aside since it's pretty far away, but I hope it will be worth it! I'll keep you all posted!

That is so exciting hockeymom! Is the deva concept salon list on the main deva site? Now I want to check it out, as I previously just assumed I wouldn't have anyone around me. After all, the midwest is pretty barren when it comes to trendy/specialty hairdressers.

I haven't made an appt (YET)...but I plan on it...I was frustrated with my hair the other day and almost went somewhere else just on a spur of the moment, but I didn't (thank goodness). I am hoping I can get in within the next couple months or so (trying to grow my hair out too) plus the boys' baseball will be slowing down so that will give me time to be able to actually go for the whole day.
