ACV Help

Hi,

I have my solution made up for an ACV but am not entirely sure how to use it. I just pour it over do I? Thing is, it will just run down the back of my hair and run off.

There must be a trick to it.

Also, I do that, condition then apply my gel as usual yes?

I just want to check as I'm doing this first thing in the morning. It is ok to let the solution stand for a while isn't it?

Thanks for your help.

How'd this work for you? I see you posted this yesterday . When I do an ACV, I just pour it over my head (usually bending forward) and work it through my hair. I might let it set for 30 seconds or so, but that's about it. I rinse well, condition and go with whatever styler I've decided on.

Ditto with LC - but I may leave it on a little more than 30 seconds. I also do it bending over (don't picture it ) and just work it through a little bit.

Hi guys -

Well I did it this morning - I didn't know it could be left on. Anyway I tried to get it all over my hair but I think I still got too much on the underneath at the back.

Our bathroom has a bath, with a shower fixed onto the wall, no shower cubical. My preferred way to wash my hair is over the side of the bath, with the shower attachment in my hand, I have seriously dodgy skin (eczema etc) and have to be careful so I find that's better when using shampoo, conditioner etc.

Anyway - as my head was upside down you can picture where most of the rinse ended up, although I really tried to work it in. I rinsed it off pretty soon after, about 30 seconds to a minute probably.

I put on gel then diffused. While at work I noticed the underside of my hair, at the back, was so baby soft I can't think when it's felt like that before! To me, baby soft = fluffy, so I got out my spray gel and spritzed!!

I know it defeats the object to whack loads of product back in, but I figured it helps to really cleanse all the old stuff off and start again!!

Whilst doing the rinse, I did notice how much better my hair felt, like it just stripped away all of the product left-overs...so that's good.

So there's an essay! Sorry - I do tend to go on a bit sometimes!

Even dressed - I must lock the door. Nobody in my home deserves to be so entertained at my expense

Back to the acv - sounds like you did it great. I usually don't have the greatest hair right after the acv - it helps it soooo well, it takes til the next day to be better!! I think of it as giving me a clean plate to start over with.

I have been trying the ACV rinse, but nobody has actually said when you use it-
before you shampoo or no poo, before you condition, or after you are all done (I guess that would defeat the purpose of using conditioner though, wouldn't it)
So what is the actual routine for using the ACV?

I do it probably every 2-3 weeks. Some people do it every week, others once a month. I try to use only products that can be easily washed out with conditioner, so I don't need to use sulfates, but even those things tend to build up and my hair just starts acting 'funky' and hard to deal with. The ACV will get rid of the build up (depending on the products that are building up) and restore my hairs natural PH level - like giving a clean slate to work with again. Plus, I tend to have a dry itchy scalp, and I think the whole PH level has to do with that and it calms the itchies. I'm no curly expert, so maybe someone else can clarify this a little more!!
