will be trying ReCoil for the first time-any tips?

Hi,
I finally found ReCoil at a salon near my sister's house. I'm going to try it out tomorrow.

I've done a search, and most posts say to use it on very wet hair, emulsify with your hands, and use a small amount. Any other advice, please?

Should I use some gel over it? I"ve actually been having good luck wtih LA Looks Blue Sport Gel. I also have Jessicurl's RR and CCSS.

I usually scrunch with a microfiber towel, diffuse dry for about seven minutes and let my hair dry naturally the rest of the way. I tried plopping, but it makes my hair a big, undefined frizzball!

Thanks!
Sherry

Hi,
To use re:coil I would say the following things:
1: only use a small amount. I use about a nickel sized about for my hair that is about 4 inches below my shoulders.
2: Emulsify between your hands really well before applying (I smooth over my hair and then scrunch, I don't rake it in) (BTW, I just read your post again and saw that you already knew these two things, Sorry!)
3: As for over top, I use mousse, but you can use a gel, I find that re:coil does not have the hold I need, so I definitely need somehing over it!

I actually use a gel first, then distribute the recoil just to the bottom half of my hair (I put it in with my head upside down). If I use to near my roots, the top part of my hair gets weighed down really bad.

I have also used it mixed with gel in my hands, then distribute. This has worked as well :)

And as everyone says, just use a SMALL amount .

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

I think I used too much-I ended up with too much crunch that wouldn't scrunch out easily. I may try it again tomorrow. The curl definition looked great for about an hour, then my hair had that "wet, too much product look" after that.

thanks,
Sherry

Dont you just hate it when that happens?? There is such a fine line between not enough and too much product :?
