Frizz is cute

At least according to my straight haired girlfriend it is! We went swimming yesterday. I pulled my hair back so it wouldn't get wet but I didn't pull it up high enough since it got wet anways. I said how I was gonna have to wear my hair pulled back for the rest of the day. She said "You should take it out and let it curl" I said "It'll frizz" Which is when she said "Aw you should let it, I think it's cute! I would kill to have hair like yours." I just thought I would share this amusing moment with ya'll!

Product Junkie that keeps falling off the wagon!
My straight friends says the same about my frizz. She loves it. In fact she tries to create more frizz in my hair and wants to touch it constantly. Of course, I never lose curl with thouching. I just gain frizzy curls, but it still drives me f**king crazy!
I'm less broke, but still thrifty. Show me the budget-friendly, quality products.

After a day of swimming on vacation the other day, my hair dried into a frizzball and my loving hubby looked over at me and said, "Why don't you wear your hair like that? I love it that way." LOL He's cute and clueless!
I'm a 3b, with 3c underneath.

Used to be CG, now I'm not. Using Suave Aloe & Waterlily shampoo & condish, JoiWhip, BRHG, Suave Aloe gel, Aussie Tizz No Frizz, and anything else that looks good!

I can see frizz on other people sometimes and think it looks fine, even good, but on me - forget it. I'm constantly battling it, drives me mad!

VERY fine 2B/3A hair
Chin-length - growing it out...again.
I don't have a problem at all with a little frizz. Depending on the style, a bit of frizz can add needed body, dimension, or character. It's part of the nature of curly hair- the word "frizzy" comes from the French for curly- "frisť". And it might surprise some people that most English-speaking straighties see the two words as somewhat synonymous, too.

I think we as curlies can get a little too caught up in it- we may have embraced our curls, but an obsession with achieving and maintaining frizz-free curls sometimes seems to have replaced the obsession with achieving and maintaining frizz-free straightened hair.

If you focus on the negative not only is that what you'll see, that's what you'll be.
I have people who come up to me all the time and "boing" my hair. What is it about straighties that makes them think they can touch someone else's hair? It is like going up to a strange pregnant woman and feeling on her stomach. This is totally not normal in my book. Sure, I am fascinated by the straighties with their perfect, well, straightness. But, seriously. How many of us will go up and feel of their hair?
Besides, I still get embarrassed if I happened to have forgotten to scrunch the crunch out before the straighties feel the need to boing it.
3A/3B I think...

I am also far more tolerant of frizz in others than I am of my own frizz.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
I think that frizz can be equivalent to the bed head look -- sometimes it's super sexy -- as long as it isn't overdone.
Variation of 3B/3C curls.

Amazed that I finally found a method that works for my hair! Diffuse until 60-70% dry, then let air dry for about an hour. Scrunch and leave it alone!

I don't mind a bit of frizz, nor do I demand perfection, as long as my curls aren't completely undefined and out of control. It's a balancing act- I like some volume, and the more defined my curls are, the flatter they are. My husband loves it when my hair is a bit frizzed and natural looking.
