Going to bed with wet hair

I hate having to sort my hair every morning it takes me half and hour to rinse it etc and if I diffuse another 30 minutes and my hair is still looks wet! So does anyone have any tips on going to bed with wet hair?

I really hate going to bed with wet hair because I never know what sort of monstrosity I might wake up to. It's not always bad though. I dafinitely can't expect much defined curl or good volume but I can get presentable now, usually.

I definitely can't go to bed with freshly showered hair. I need to let it dry for a bit (not necessarily all the way but definitely some). Lately I've experimented with diffusing for a few minutes after my bath. I still have to let it sit for a few before I lay down but it does seem to help some. I get a little more frizz/flyaways though but not enough to be really concerned with.

If I have to get up early and be somewhere at a certain time, it's nearly impossible for me to do my hair. It takes a good two and a half hours to dry and still takes over an hour/ hour and a half to get mostly dry if I diffuse some first thing and I'm not a morning person at all.

I find that laying my hair up over the pillow helps but it does come down most of the time because I move a lot in my sleep. I don't know how well pineappling would work with wet hair. Some people plop overnight but I can't manage that one. It either comes off, the friction causes frizz, or I have weird lumps. Satin pillowcases do help whether you go to bed wet or dry.

Sorry I don't have any real 100% solutions though.

The only thing I can think of is first wrapping or plopping your hair in a towel for 15minutes and then diffuse. Maybe this works better. My microfiber towel (yesss I love it) sucks up water really good.

HOpe this helped a t least a little bit.
Take care
I dry a bit under a hooded dryer and then pull my hair into a low pony and fall asleep under a ceiling fan.

i have the best hair days when i go to sleep with my hair wet. however, i usually don't get a good nights sleep when i do this. i just put a t-shirt over my pillow and put my hair above my head but very close to my head so its kinda like ploping except with nothing on my head. i make sure i only lay on the under layers of my hair and if i move i make sure im not on my hair. in the morning its dry and i just put a little aloe vera gel on any frizzies i have and maybe spray it with some water and im good to go.

Thanks for the idea of a t-shirt over the pillow. My hair is damp tonight, and I knew a towel would be a bad idea...

i have had some bad experiences going to bed with wet hair. Partially damp is usually okay but when I went to bed with almost soaking wet hair it was a mess and my hair was really crazy the next morning
I'm in the same boat with danielley. It's like overnight plopping. However, instead of a t-shirt, I use a microfiber towel which helps with encouraging my hair to be dry in the morning (and I have very thick hair that takes forever to dry).
I love going to bed with wet hair. It works very well for me. I don't do anything special either and it always comes out fine.
Hair type, thin, 3b, past my shoulders always looking for length. Use jessicurl hair cleansing cream, devacurl one c, angel, set it free, Always see a deva trained stylist for cut and Aveda Institute for color.

I went to bed last night with damp hair, for the first time in...years. I only used some LA Looks gel, thinking I'd just have to jump in the shower to wet it down, anyway. Well, it looked so good when I got up, I was so surprised . If I wasn't so tired, I'd try it again, but what is the chance of that happening twice? (well, maybe better than I thought? I'll have to try again, sometime.)
I did this last night as I have to go get some tests this morning and then watch for the UPS man to make sure he doesn't try to put my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in my tiny mailbox, and then I wouldn't be able to read what happens to my other curly alter-ego, Hermione Granger!

My hair is still a bit damp after 9 hours but I did leave it fairly wet. No frizz though. And quite curly!
wen i go tosleep with partically wet hair (the top layer is stil damp) i get lots of volume on top=) so i always do this..my hair looks so flat if i was n go=(

I don't know how you do it. If my hair is ever so slightly damp when I go to bed, I wake up with a MESS on my head. My hair is usually very messed up even if I go to bed with dry hair, but if it's damp or even wet, it's a complete disaster. Don't you move around in your sleep?

hi--here is an example of a recent overnight plop. i can never get it to look this good unless i sleep on it plopped and damp. larger size on my fotki.

I am amazed with the going to bed with hair people. And with the 2nd/3rd hair day people. I am lucky to get one day hair and it sure wont happen after I sleep on it!
