Default leave in and gel?

i use leave in c&s then put my gel in my hair. i've been wearing my hair in a updo. when i have a updo i don't use these products. my hair is between 2a-2b. my husband b-day is coming up and i would like to do a ponytail w/my curls. it's getting hotter in ca. should i still use the leave in c&s or just put in my gel? i'm still new w/working with my natural curl. would this combo weigh my hair down in summer?

Have you tried just using the CnS and no gel? I don't think it would weigh it down to use both, but you might could get away with just the CnS. Just a suggestion because several of us can use the CnS as a styler. Give it a trial run before hubby's b-day and see .

I'd use both. I've used the CnS in the summer (which is pretty much year-round here), but I always need a gel for hold.

I'd use more than what you'd think - maybe a good palmfull or two depending on the length of your hair.
