Protein question

Unless it specifically says "protein", I don't really know how to tell if it's a protein or not? Does anybody see any proteins here? These are all Jessicurl products. Thanks so much for your help mucking through all of these ingredients!

The TooShea has a tiny amount of hydrolized oat flour as a thickener. While not used as a protein in the traditional sense, anything with "hydrolized" in front of it can act as a protein on sensitive hair.

The amount in the TooShea is so low that many protein sensitives are fine with it. Those with a more pronounced sensitivity may notice it though. I've only seen a handful of others here besides myself who have hair that notices it. If you are just checking before use without any current issues going on, it's worth a try. If that is your routine, and you are feeling protein dry (which felt different on my hair than just 'lack of moisture' dry) you could try leaving out the TooShea to see if that makes a difference.

Also, some notice a drying effect from magnesium sulfate that is in curl enhancers like Confident Coils or re:coil.

Thanks so much for your help! I used the Too Shea in the past and loved it for a long time but then eventually felt like the oils made me greasy. I'm just now back to using it again. However, I've only used it 2x. Yesterday was good. Today, not so much. BUT, I had the "bright idea" of clarifying last night and starting over with exclusively Jessicurl products, as I had been using PM Sculpting Foam on again/off again for the past few weeks. After clarifying, I put a lot of Too Shea in and kept it in overnight. My hair feels funny today - like there's something in it that's not supposed to be there, almost as if it needs rinsed again or something. Weird, huh?
