Anyone scared to try new products?
I had my first Deva cut about a month ago and was thrilled with the results. They used No-Poo and DevaCurl One Condition - and left some One Condition as the leave in.
I have found that doing this exact routine (No-Poo only once in a while, and using the One Condition for a co-wash), diffusing, and then letting it air dry and scrunching consistently produces the curls that I want.
I'm scared to try anything else!
Does anyone else strictly stick to their routine, or am I a complete oddball :-)? I feel like I should be experimenting, but I don't want to ruin a good thing.

Amazed that I finally found a method that works for my hair! Diffuse until 60-70% dry, then let air dry for about an hour. Scrunch and leave it alone!

Hey, if ti works, it works!
Mostly I search because something isn't working as well as I'd like. Sometimes, I just get caught by something new...

I think it's good to have at least two routines you're happy with...in case one of your products is discontinued or stops working.

Re: Anyone scared to try new products?
Well, you are an oddball (J/K ), but if you don't feel inclined to experiment, DON'T! Once you start, it's really hard to stop. It's like an addiction... they should really have a 12-step program for us. Trust me, your wallet really appreciates your loyalty to just one routine.

I'm a total PJ, but I still am scared about actually BUYING new products. I'm always like, what if it doesn't work!? I'm wasting money here! I'm very careful about buying stuff and I can get very indecisive...
but that doesn't stop me, usually. I have about 3 small baskets, one huge carton, 2 drawers, and a full shower of stuff to prove it.

Re: Anyone scared to try new products?
Haha, I agree with these two. If you're happy, don't start!!! It's like hair crack! Lol.
Part of my problem is my hair refuses to do the same thing all the time and I don't always feel like having it do the same thing and like to switch it up. And I've never found anything that worked absolutely consistently for me day in and day out for a long period of time.
But if you're happy with how your hair turns out daily, there is absolutely no reason to stray. It's not an easy habit to break once you start. Back away slowly then run as fast as you can back to your perfect routine.

I wish I could be like you, and stick to a good routine, but for some reason I just can't. I can buy a fabulous conditioner that does wonder for my hair but when I run out I don't get the same brand but something else just in case it's even better.
I have now, three days in a row, had great hair using Jason's aloe vera gel mixed with a little honey as a leave-in/styling gel, but even though I'm getting beautiful results with this I just *know* that I'm going to try something else soon.
I think that basically I just get bored with using the same products all the time, just like I would get bored if I wore the same clothes every day, ate the same food every day etc.
But if your current routine works for you, whatever you do don't start experimenting. Frankly it becomes a sort of addiction - they don't call it "product junkie" for nothing...

Exactly. JUST IN CASE is a big problem.

Okay, so I decided to try mixing Angell with the leave-in today - knowing that the gel alone would be way too much for my hair.
The curls were much stringier than normal. Didn't hate it, just didn't like it as much as with just the One Condition.
I'm going to quit while I'm ahead and just do the One Condition!
I guess I'll have to post my Angell on the swap board :-)

I'm scared to try expensive products. I just don't want to spend so much when cheaper products give me similiar results. However, I look forward to planning what routine and product combo I'm going to try next. It's fun and I feel like I'm enjoying my hair. My hair is normally in a constant state of experimentation, but if I need my hair to look good, then I have go-to products for that. I also don't like the idea of having only certain products work for me because it makes me feel high-maintenance. I like knowing that I could go into WalMart and have a large mental list of products that work for me as opposed to only one or two.

How sad. It sounds like it was really good.
