What the heck does this mean

Polyquaternium-7 is a copolymer of dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (DMAC)and acrylamide, which has a lower overall percentage of cationic sites on the polymer chain (lower charge density).

I just looked and my shampoo that I use once a week has polyquat-7 and so does the condish. Robert Craig.
Is this bad???

I guess I don't know what you mean by "bad." It is a conditioning polymer. It is not water soluble.

I'll check the article out. Bad meaning.... what exactly does it do - if it isn't water soluble, I would think that is bad because you don't want stuff stuck in your hair - do you? I really don't know. So, I'm not being flip or anything. I'm trying to figure out if it does damage or build up so much that will cause problems. And since it's in shampoo and condish - how the heck do you get it out??
I'll read the article and see if it helps me... Sometimes they get so technical - I need it in plain english

Yeah, that's the article that I read before and I don't completely understand it. It says it can adhere to the hair and really hard to get out even with clarifyers. Which doesn't sound too good to me. so I don't understand why shampoo companies would put it in the poo. So, I just bought a big bottle of shampoo from RC and it has polyquat-7 in it. I don't know whether to continue to use it or not.
I don't use clarifyers as I have colored hair and like to stay away from those.
So..... polyquat 7 -- good, bad, indifferent??? What will it do if it builds up? Since I supposedly can't get it out.
