Got Re:coil & Rockin Ringlets & STILL no curls-pleas

Ok I finally got some rockin ringlets and my AG re:coil. So keep in mind though that I am modified CG for only about 1 week so that may have something to do with it.

I did a co-wash with V05 Kiwi Lime Condish, then conditioned it with the Kiwi Lime...then applied about 4 puddles of the rockin ringlets to soaking wet hair, next i used about 3 dime sized puddles of the re;coil and then used scrunched upwards with some paper towels, added some Garnier Fructis Totally Twisted and plopped.
The second time I tried this I did all the same steps except after I scrunched with the rockin ringlets, I scrunched up with the paper towels and then applied some AG re:coil cause on the forums, some people said towel dried hair and some said soaking for application.

Either way, although it helped a bit and I saw a few extra curls, I didn't see a big difference. Everyone I spoke to said that Rockin Ringlets and Re;Coil would really help boost my waves into curls, so I'm thinking either I'm doing something wrong or my hair just rejects everything and I should just shave my head.

If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, or has any suggestions...I'd love the help. I'm also waiting on some Confident Coils and hoping maybe that will help too, but I'm starting to be very dissapointed.
I am currently a 2C who wants to be a 3...I'm trying for anything that will make my limp boring waves into bouncy curls...ANYONE PLEASE HELP!!!!
Know what, re:coil might not work for you. It never worked for me, now I know that it was because my hair is protein sensitive, and there is a fair amount of proteins in it. But IDK, maybe you should just use a little less and I have read others posing that it works good sometimes when you actually mix a bit in with your leave in and then apply.

I use re:coil and love it, but I didn't at first. I really just had to figure out what amount works for my hair. I apply it after my leave-in and before gel. I use about a nickel size amount and rub in palms before applying (my hair is just above my shoulders). After applying re:coil I micro-fiber towel dry my hair then apply gel (Abba Weightless Gel).

I don't have any imput on the Rockin Ringlets as I have never used it.

I'd say to experiment with the amount of product you use. The first time I used re:coil, I was using way too much and my hair was a stringy mess. Then some one here suggested I use just a pea sized dollup, and "emulsify it" between my hands before scrunching it in. That made all the difference. (emulsify=rub between hands until it's spread out on the hands.)

eta: sorry, forgot to say that I use GF Curl and Shine under the re:coil and gel or mouse over it after plopping.
I didn't like Re:coil at first either. I use the same technique as posted by KurlyKae and then I put Herbal Essences Totally Twisted get over it.
No more PJ tendencies. Tigi Curls Rock Curl Amplifier is the best thing to make my curls rock all day! Next best are KCCC and Re:Coil +HE TT Gel.
Funny, I was going to say Rockin Ringlets may not work for you. The oils make my hair too soft, and the curl easily falls out. I'm a 3a, and my hair doesn't respond well to oils, so it's not for me.

My mother is a 3c and she LOVES RR. So maybe your hair isn't curly enough.

As I said, I'm a 3a, and I find the less products the better.

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.
I'm no expert, but I've done a lot of experimenting. If I were you I'd try :
1. some different conditioners to see if a different moisture level might help.
2. Less re:coil
3. try a stronger hold gel
4. play with different techniques. for example, I rake products (with my fingers) though dripping wet hair while flipped upside down in the shower, then scrunch out excess water with my hands, and continue scrunching with a microfiber towel. Other's swear by plopping. You just have to try different things to see what works.

As an aside, I think your hair looks beautiful wavy, so don't be too discouraged if you can't get a lot of curl - you can embrace the beautiful waves that you have!

I agree. RR is awesome, but probably not for someone with fine curls.

I'd use less re:coil, skip the RR, and try plunking!
3b, fine, but LOTS of it...
First of all, your hair is beautiful! Second, being CG doesn't magically make curls appear, it simply enhances the waves or curls that you already have since your hair won't be damaged by silicones, sulphates, blow drying, straightening, curl or straight ironing. Depending on the products and technique you use, as well as the weather for the day, your hair will respond differently. Wavies, especially seem to get a lot of variety. Our hair seems to have a mind of its own every day! That being said, have fun experimenting, but be realistic about what your hair is able to do.

Recoil is one of my HGs, but I need to use a gel on top of it, and a strong gel at that...

ETA: I use WAY less recoil than 3 dime-sized dollops, more like 3 pea-sized blobs. Even with long hair. Also I apply it to soaking wet hair (same with almost all of the products I use).

And I'm going to say that I think you're using way too much RR. My hair is past shoulder length and I use 1 or 1 1/2 puddles. I follow with a medium-strong hold gel. I've never used re:coil, so i can't comment on that. I agree with the posters who suggest trying a lot less product and different combinations of things. Unfortunately, there's no substitute for trial and error . As "they" say YMMV!
Couple of inches past shoulder length 3A. Shampoo every 3rd or 4th day w/ baby shampoo; Tigi Fashionista conditioner; back to Condition 3-in-1 mousse . Alternate days water rinse, conditioner and mousse.
Thanks everyone for your feedback...although its a bit confusing since some of you are saying Rockin Ringlets may not work and the other half are saying its the Re:coil. Anyway...I think you are all right in the fact that it is a trial process...Thanks for all your tips, i think I will just keeping trying different things and amounts until I get it just right!

This thread has cobwebs on it, and this is probably going to confuse you more, but whenever I use the V05 Kiwi Lime conditioner, my hair is less curly that day. Probably something having to do with the clarifying properties. So I'd suggest experimenting with your conditioners as well.

I couldn't use RR at all either. My hair is too fine, and it pulled all the curls out.

I have fine hair and RR is very curl enhancing for my hair but I only use about 1 to 2 quarter size amounts in my hair. Then a small amount of CCSC over that
