Anyone comb their hair on day 2 or 3?
Of all the CG advice, not combing my hair is the hardest for me to follow. Perhaps because I have very fine 3a hair (2 in the back). I tend to comb it out on day 2 and 3 then scrunch in a spray gel. I feel like that clumps my curls a bit better. Anyone else?

No, I don't, but I very rarely get 2nd day hair, and 3rd only happens if I'm putting on a hat!
You can do anything you want with your hair, I'd just be as gentle as possible- to keep breaking to a minimum.

I'm about a 2c and I often comb out my hair on the 2nd day. I just don't have much curl the second day and it looks too messy (without combing). And I kinda like the soft look I get when I comb it out.

Nope, I only comb in the shower with conditioner.

Nope, if i do that on my hair it will be like this even if I reapply product. My curl pattern gets ruined.
But if it works for you and your hair, go for it!

Interesting concept. I normally don't comb on 2nd or 3rd days, but I'll have to try it. I have a similar curl pattern to yours - curly in the front, wavy toward the back.

My hair is soooo thick and knotted, there is no way I could get a comb even to go through my hair once it's dry...I don't comb/brush at all, not even in the shower anymore, it just ruins the curl pattern, and causes poofiness and frizziness....one big mess, even when wet!

Ditto both. Sometimes I have to finger comb a few knots out of the nape, but I can't comb my hair.

Same here - I may be loose on some of the CG "rules" but I never, ever comb after product goes in.

I've never even HAD 2nd day hair - lol! But if I did - I most definitely would not be able to use a comb - if I wanted to leave the house, that is.

Amazed that I finally found a method that works for my hair! Diffuse until 60-70% dry, then let air dry for about an hour. Scrunch and leave it alone!

Yea same here with the nape. And those pieces of hair wind up stick straight on 2nd/3rd day hair.

I couldn't comb, even if I wanted to. The comb would not get through my hair. However, I have been known to brush my hair dry (in sections and with a leave in) on occasion. It clumps right back up when I smooth in a styler.
For 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th day hair, I rewet my hair with my hands, and sometimes rake through a little styler if needed, but I do not comb. I rarely comb through my hair, even when wet with conditioner. I get *way* too much reverb.

Exactly! What's up with that?! I usually talk my stylist into cutting them a little shorter so they don't hang down lower (and straighter) after the first day.

I can see why one would want to comb for 2nd-day hair, but I don't do it anymore. Like Maurene said, it can give a nice, soft look. It would probably clump fine and look close to first-day hair with a product, too.
However, I find that if I comb my hair dry, I'm at risk for possible breakage, and it's too much work to fight all the tangles. I only use a wide-toothed comb on conditioner-soaked hair or a fine-toothed comb on my bangs [that I want to grow out soon] when they aren't behaving.
For second-day hair, I just smooth the canopy lightly with water then smooth on a light coating of gel to seal it. If the waves themselves aren't cooperating, I scrunch in a bit of gel, fluff to clump, then smooth.
