Crazy question

Ok I may have some money coming back to me and one thing that I've thought of is heat lamps like you sit under at the salon. That seems to make a big difference. I have yet to find a diffuser that doesn't frizz my hair. Has anyone else made this crazy leap? I made a sales contact at a company. My hair is just so frizzy this year, probably because I color more and I get such nice curl formation under the lamps at the salon. No-one has heard of home version have they????

Google "hood dryers" or "hood hair dryers" and you'll find plenty of home versions of those hoods at the salon.
OMG, LOOK!!

...It's a siggie.
I think she is talking about the heat lamps that some curly friendly salons use. Right? I would love to find one too. I haven't thought to Google for those.

Correct, I'm not looking for a hood , I'm looking for the heat lamps like they set you under in salons. I found one now I got call him and faint when I hear the price. I probably can't do it every day but my hair always sets better.

I wouldlove to find one of those professional heatlamps. My old salon had them and they were very nice. It was a 3-lamp set up on a stand.

well I made contact with a guy at a salon place that will sell to the public. The o ne I had my eye on is more than I like. He suggested another one that he said he did not blow hair. The heat without the blower is so much better for my hair. I emailed him about the differences and I'm waiting to hear back. Now that I color regularly it seems I have to be even more gentle with it to prevent frizz.

Hi,
I bought a heat lamp det of 4 bulbs with no air and I sat and sat...and sat... after 45 minutes my hair was still wet. Think of it like a heat lamp over food, it keeps moisture in till it can't.
I think a hood dryer is your best bet

I found them; cheapest one is $299.00

Some blow dryers also have radiant heat technology.

ETA: Ok, I just found it on their site, but I have no idea if it's only infrared heat, or blows air too, or if you can choose between them, or what. But it might be worth swinging by your local Sally's to take a look when you're near one anyway.

I have always wanted one too, it would be great to get a wall mounted one in the bathroom, although I think guests would be like, "what the heck is that thing" Keep us posted if you get one or not. I love the way my hair looks with it heat lamp dried. If it is summer I will dry my hair in the hot sun and the effect is very similar, but it takes a bit of time....
