What's the craziest thing you've ever put in your hair?
B/c I was on this KY thread & I was surprized 2c how much of the ladies have used it.. (For their hair that is)

I guess it would have to be KY liquid and baby lotion (not at the same time ).

When I was in 4th grade, I put an entire tube of Chap Stick in my hair. I thought it might calm it down
Currently, I suppose it would be the food items (ACV, honey), although they don't seem so strange here.

Baby oil as a styling aid. It was the eighties and it was summer!
Lately, I've used honey as part of a treatment. As a treatment it was ok because I was rinsing it out, but I could never bring myself to use honey as a styling aid. Seeing the results of honey on some curlies, I wish I could.

Kool Aid here too. Pink was my color - could never get red, and grape never worked. Hmmm.....I wonder if my new job would mind me having pink hair. I haven't done that in a long time.

Lemon juice and hydrogen perioxide (mixed together, sprayed on) during the spring of eighth grade. I was determined to lighten my dark brown hair, and my parents wouldn't let me dye it or apply Sun-In so I made my own.

Half a tub of Vaseline.
Removing that mess required dish soap.

Sounds like my experience with using straight Baby Oil (basically scented mineral oil) years ago. Yikes!

My brother did that when he was younger, and it turned his hair orange. Did the same happen to you? I bet your parents were thrilled.
I'm one of those who happily slathers KY jelly in her hair every day, so I guess that's pretty weird. I also love mixing honey with my conditioner, and I ellicited all kinds of weird looks from people who were observant enough to notice the jar of honey that I kept in my shower (I don't keep it there anymore. My apartment had ants everywhere when I first moved in, so I try not to keep sugary foodstuffs in the bathroom these days.)
I think the worst thing I ever managed to do was somehow slather an entire potato in my hair when I was little. Don't ask me how or why I did it, I only remember that it took forever to wash out and that my mother was furious.

Did it work? I'd be really impressed if it did because the real Sun-In turned my hair bright orange.

Most of the stuff I've put in my hair wouldn't be considered crazy by this boards standards.
I when I was 12, I had to do this testing that involved putting electrodes on my head, and they kept them on with plaster of paris. The dr told me it would easily wash out with shampoo, but it didn't and it was during the school year. I used just about everything I could think of to get it out, dish soap, I think I might have even given laundry soap a try but I don't remember a whole lot except the difficulty, and the embarrassment of going to school with while flaky blobs on my head.

Hey, laurabeth, I also put hydrogen peroxide in my hair in 8th grade. My hair was kind of a silvery dark blonde, and I wanted to be blonder. It did work a little bit for me (not as orange as the Sun-In that my friends had used).
My mom was not happy with me, and the solid roots line after a couple months was pretty ugly. After I did it, my mom did take me to get professional highlights, and I haven't stopped getting them since.

I'm thinking about (just thinking at this point) using monistat 2% cream on my scalp as a hair growth aid. Other than that -- sulfur-infused oil, honey, acv, coconut milk, aloe vera (not all together).

Avocado and Honey as of last night. I used one of the DT's from the "Curly Girl" book, unfortunately my hair still smells... but it's soo soft and volumous...

I tried baby powder to get rid of root oiliness & ended up looking like I was wearing a British Parliament or royalty wig!
