how many have truly found their niche?

hey peeps! i've been thinkin about this for a while now so i figured i'd post about it. so the question is now many of you have truly found your niche? i guess in a more detailed version i would like to know:

how many of you all are truly happy with your hair?

Also, how many have found the right styling products, what are they and how long has it been?(more than a month! hehe)

Lastly, how many of you have either stopped lookin or occasionally pick up a new one?

so to answer my own questions,

i would say that yes i'm truly happy with my hair. i wouldn't want anyone else's hair but my own because i feel that my curl type and style makes me who i am. i used to think i made a mistake when i cut off my relaxed hair but when i found the products that made my curls look great, i realized that my hair really does make me look great. i just feel so proud and when i look at pictures of myself from before i'm no longer saddened because i know that i'm now a different person and this is what fits me today. i'll throw up some old pics when i get a chance so you all can see the difference.

yes i've found the right products. Aveda USC, honey, coconut oil and FOTE gel. This has been a combo for me for about a year now. it was just the USC and FOTE at first then i added in the honey last summer and the coconut oil on thanksgiving day.

occasionally i'll pick up a new shampoo/condish based on how my hair is feeling. Also i'll occasionally grab a new styling creme just to see how it acts compared to my aveda. they usually always fail the test. So for now i think i'm done looking styling product wise.

I guess i've found my niche

Im not happy with my hair at this time, im so much haiting it

sad I know..

I only have one products which I love very much, I only like the way it leaves my hair, so fresh! Its Devacurl Lowpoo. This one stays!

Conditioner I use now is Devacurl One C. Not sure if I like it or not...havent seen any good results..

Stuff that is on their way home to ME are:

*Elucence Conditioner
*Suave Milk and Honey
*2 more boots (which i dont need anyways

)
*Volumax styling gel
*Aquis Microfiber T.
*Devacurl AnGell.

Maby I will find something good about some of these products...

Im still chercing for Conditioner, styling products, DTproduct...
its so hard to find any good without cones/alcohol or other harsh stuff

I love my hair, very happy with it and wouldn't swap it for anyone else's.

For styling, I tend to like light formulations containing shea butter (6 years) and/or castor oil (3 years). These are typically homemade.

Not looking, but if I read about a new quality line, I might try it. Recent tryouts are Oyin Handmade and Asha lines. I have also been wanting to try the Aveda Brilliant S+C for years. I think it's way more fun to occasionally play with new products when you're all set with a great routine

Haven't found my HG yet, though I think KMS Curl Up Control Creme comes close, real real close. I've only used it a few times since buying it. I think it's been since January, maybe Feb.

I have Joico I.C.E. Whip, but since I can't return it 'cause the shop stopped selling Joico, & I can't sell it & send it through the mail 'cause it's supposedly a no-no (combustible or whatever), I'm stuck with it & guess I'll have to use it until it's gone. :x

I still look, but I don't buy. Though I'm on the hunt for a gel.

I'm really happy with my hair, and not looking elsewhere. My hair isn't perfect or totally consistent, but neither am I-and it does seem to consistently match my mood!

A lot happier then I used to be. A few years ago in highschool I was constantly unhappy with it. Kinda like Net now, except I think maybe my mood matches my hair. Kinda bad it has that much influence, but if it's being easier to manage and looks decent I feel better.

About finding the right styling products, there are two that really make a big difference for me, Dep's new curl cream and PM sculpting lotion. The curl cream softens and holds and the sculpting lotion is gentle and effective. They're awesome compared to everything else I've tryed, but still looking.

I love my hair. I got bored at work about a month back and my coworker straightened it for me. The first time in about 15 month. It looked amazingly healthy and shiny, but I didn't like it straight. The next day I wore it curly again despite a lot of compliments.

Products: I love Ouidad Climate Control for summer, but it is not summer yet

So I switch pretty consistently between Biolage Gelee and Finesse Mousse.
I tried the Got 2Be spiked up and actually repurchased it, when I want a slightly less clumped and a little "wilder" look. ( More Curly) My BF likes that look. He thinks pouffy describes a good thing.

I am mostly happy with my hair. I just have to find what works well with it. Seems I have found some of it lately. *dare I say this?*

I voted YES! When I first discovered NC in 2002 (I lurked for a while before joining), I adopted a lot of the tips and products to great effect and was SO HAPPY

In fact, satisfaction with my hair and being busy with work/life led me to stop posting for a looong time. I'm back recently because I want to embrace my curls more and try to wean myself off chemicals yet still look styled and professional for work.

I basically love the products that I use but am always on the look out for other (or even better) products. My absolute favorites (all used on a rotating basis, i.e. only 1 conditioner and 2 styling products at a time), include:

DT: jessicurl; ouidad

Conditioners: redken all butter; kenra iet; jessicurl ts; alterna hemp; ouidad cq; aubrey organics gpb; suave; vo5 oasis

Cleansers: lamas botantical chinese herbs shampoo; avalon organics clarifying shampoo; nioxin scalp therapy

Styling products: shea butter; generic sebastian 9; curls essential elements and curl enhancer lotion; jessicurl rr; chs curl keeper; fekkai glossing cream; (in winter) biolage gelee watered down; (in summer) fantasia ic watered down; ouidad cc or tress f/x; (year-round) aubrey organics mandarin magic hair jelly

Color maintenance: biolage earth tones, artec and quantum conditioners, kenra daily provision spray, vo5 detangle and shine

I voted hell yea, but I guess if I decide not to texturize, this will change. I love the hair I was blessed with - love the thickness, the darkness, the versatility, the ability to grow, the texture. But I do texturize, so maybe that makes me confused...

I'm a PJ and always wanting to try new products (anxiously awaiting my curly pudding) but I have had some good ones for some time now.

Pink Oil Light Moisturizer has to be an HG for me along with my olive and coconut oil.
Also, the Curls moisturizer.
Elucence conditioner.
KMS curl-up balm for special occasions.
Aveda Brilliant products.

Basically, I've found the right types of products. My hair likes moisturizers, certain oils, silicones, creams and balms, pomades and heavy conditioners.
Generally don't like gel (with a few exceptions), certain oils, and mousses.

I have a washing, drying and conditioning routine that works and I think my hair is healthy.
I wish I had a better routine for keeping my hair from tangling.

I have to say I'm very, very happy with my hair now that I've found products that work for me. When I was a kid I hated my hair with a passion. It took me a long time to come to terms with it, and right now is the happiest I've ever been. My only problem is when humidity strikes. I still don't know what to do to keep my hair looking good during the humid summer months. I want to get really serious this year about finding something that will stand up to humidity!

Have you ever tried Ouidad's climate control? It is a liquidy styling potion and super fabulous for humidity. If you like more regular gels, fantasia ic with sparklelites is also great in warm weather..

Hi eyestrain, thanks for the advice. However (I said this on another post recently) I think CC is overpriced and I refuse to spend that kind of money just on principle (just my personal feeling). My hair doesn't do well with liquidy stuff usually anyway. I'm thinking about trying Aussie 12-hour humidity spray this year.

After only 5 weeks of No-poo, my hair is completely different. I am very happy with the results. I now use fewer styling products and my hair isn't breaking off or being crunchy/dry like before.

That's cool.. I totally understand your not wanting to spend big $ on hair products (even though I do; it's an addiction..

and safer than tobacco, etc..) Fantasia ic gel is pretty cheap, tho, and offers great control when the weather heats up..

I'm a hell yeah! I just turned 40 and for the first time in my life (the past 1-1/2 years) I've worn my curls natural. It is truly liberating! It took a lot of experimenting with products and methods but going no-poo is what inspired me to start on this journey. It is truly a revolutionary concept. I didn't poo for about a year but now use shampoo about 1 every couple of weeks when I deep condition. My hair has never been healthier or longer. I used to beat the crap out of my hair with curling irons and blow dryers and massive amounts of product - it looked like it too, I'm sure - and now it's much simplier and straightforward. Very beautiful and sexy. I DEFINITELY use A LOT of conditioner on my hair (even going no/low poo) including condition on the ends daily when I wet it down as well as leave-in and I have fine, corkscrew hair. Tried the cheap products but my experience has proven that it's worth spending the extra money on salon products - honest I tried to go cheap!
