curl keeper?

I'm interested in knowing a bit more about this product. Is it a styling gel? Or just a de-frizz? I've had it with my horrible hair. I've tried everything and it just comes out gross. Stringy and frizzy. I've never had this problem before either.
I came home and wet down my hair and conditioned with some RC condish and used NO styling products -- since nothing is working.
I'm wondering if I used some curl keeper if it would give me needed moisture without weighing down my fine hair plus get rid of this FRIZZ!

My hair is not as fine as yours sounds, but I use CK and am happy with the frizz control, curl formation, and some hold. Couldn't hurt to try it, maybe check the swap board for some. Maybe some finer haired curlies will chime in.

I have fine, 3a hair. It's short - about jaw length . I'm having some success with CO washing with Suave Naturals Melon & Cucumber. Then, for styling, I mix a tiny pea-size amount of honey with a quarter size blob of pure aloe vera gel (I use CVS brand - it's clear and has no added menthol or alcohols). I rub those together in my palms very, very well and then scrunch in hair. I use 3 tiny claw clips on top to give height. After 15 - 20 mins, I diffuse for a few minutes and then air dry the rest of the way. There's not too much crunch to scrunch out and I don't have too much frizz using that combo. The other nice thing is that it leaves my hair soft and seems to give it more volume. And the whole routine is really CHEAP!

I like the idea of putting some CK on first, before the AVG and honey, though - Since I have some, I may try that on real humid days.... Good luck with your hair - it's an adventure, isn't it??!!

Curl keeper has definitely kept the frizz at bay. I don't think it weighs down hair at all. I'd be happy to send you a small sample if you'd like. I purchased a used bottle from another curly and fell in love with it. PM if you are interested.

I had not used the curl keeper for about 3 months and I just bought some and I had forgotten how much I like this stuff under my other products. It really helps me with the frizzies and I think it helps with some curl formation. Not much, if any, hold but I used the other stuff on top of it for that.

I have very fine and thin hair and when I used it I couldnt tell that it helped or hurt my hair. I couldnt tell it did anything at all for it so I coudnt justify the expense.
I love love love CK - it's the one thing that I always use. Everything else I experiment with - but I use CK every time. It really helps with the frizzies, and I don't get anything negative with it. I even use it alone after a DT.

On a side note, I've had the same issue at various times in the past, and for me, it turned out to be 1. buildup and another time: 2. protein sensitivity. And of course there's always 3. overconditioning. You've probably already gone over all of this, but just some food for thought if not.

Hope you figure it out! My fingers are crossed...

Yeah, I'd really like to try the CK - it sounds like good stuff.
This morning I used Aussie 3MM as a condish wash and rinse out and then used a tiny amount of HE TT and it worked better than anything else has.
No frizz but, my hair was a bit weighted down. So, now at least I'm pretty sure it's not from over conditioning.

I never had any luck with CK (very disappointing) but have had more success with PM's Hair Sculpting Lotion, which another curly recommended (can't remember who) as being similar to CK. It does have dimethicone in it (x3 with either pg or peg in front, so don't know if that's a problem for you) but I find it good at keeping the frizz at bay. I use mousse over the top of it and have my best hair using this combo.
