My current routine is NOT working. I'm left with frizzy, undefined waves. I'm not strictly CG, but I don't use any of the really hard to remove cones.

Right now I shampoo once a week with a sulfate shampoo and follow with the matching conditioner. No cones. The rest of the week I either CO wash with Suave coconut or just get it wet and put some Suave conditioner in and rinse.

While it's still pretty wet I work through about a quarter sized amount of Garnier Curl & Shine leave in. Then I plop with a MF turban for 5-10 min. I take it down, work through a palm sized dollop of Herbal Essences Body Envy Mousse, then I spray Suave Healthy Curls Spray Gel on my hair (not a whole lot of it) and scrunch.

Let air dry and try not to touch.

I don't know if the problem is my products or my routine. Product wise I'm thinking maybe I need a better mousse/spray gel, or perhaps use different types of products altogether.

I'm open to suggestions for changing either, but drugstore products only please.

maybe you could try using gel? and also try scrunching in all your products?

I agree. I have much better results if I put all my products on before plopping and then don't touch my hair hardly at all until it is dry. I really like the Herbal Essences Body Envy GEL and am wondering if maybe that would work better than the mousse. I have normal to fine 3A curls and it doesn't seem to weigh them down. HTH.
