I love my curls! - My story of coming to appreciate my hair.
Well, Curlies, I've finally learned to appreciate my hair.
And I was the one who said that I would NEVER in my whole life come to loving my short, tight curls.
Knowing that we were going on vacation the next day, I had packed my flat-iron, just in case I wanted to go swimming. When my sister knew about it, she wasn't content with the way I was about to damage my hair - again.
In the morning, we were all set to go - and that's what we did. In the car, I was checking my bag to see if I had everything. Clothes-check. Toothbrush-check. Flat-iron..NOT CHECK! I couldn't believe it. I had forgotten my key to looking good throughout this vacation.
After double-checking about 10 times, I just gave up. I was so upset.
That night, in the hotel room, my sister and I decided to go swimming. Afterwards, I stomped all the way back to the bed, and covered my head with a pillow. I was so mad at how my hair looked.
Just then, my sister went to her bag, and took out three lime green bottles. She put them in front of me, and I read the lables.
"Garnier Fructis - Curls and Shine Shampoo."
"Garnier Fructis - Curls and Shine Leave in Treatment."
"Garnier Fructis - Curls and Shine Curl Relaxer."
So we got to work. We washed and conditioned our hair, then we used the curl-relaxer for a looser effect. The results were stunning. I never believed my hair could look so good! And next time, I wouldn't use the curl-relaxer. I was happy with my natural, tight, shoulder length curls.
So, the moral of this story is - Don't give up hope. Your hair is beatiful, nomatter what. And even if you're having a bad hair day, we ALL have them. Embrace and Love your curls.
