I HAVE to include the story of my day, just to show the full significance of my ending hair glory LOL If you just want to read my product/routine, skip to the bold type below
I went to a new salon yesterday (recc here on naturally curly) - it was awful. The place was dirty, the bathroom looked it hadn't been cleaned in months and then I saw my stylist...I was told she had curly hair when I called but OMG - frizzy and fried and stiff - HORRID. I wanted to leave as soon as I saw her, but I was already there and too nice to walk out...
I tried to explain my new goals (CG; curly wearing; no heat styling). She didn't seem that interested. She just kept saying to get curls I must use product - washing or sulfates had nothing to do with it (!!). I asked what products she recc with NO cones (I explained the cone things since she seemed kind of clueless). She handed me a goldwell product - full of cones! So I told her it wasnt what i wanted. She said "well feel free to go around to all the products and read the labels and see if there is something you want" !!!!!!!! (so I did - there was NOTHING)
Then it was time to cut - she said "I have to straighten it with a flat iron to get a good cut" (I had come in wavy) UGH- tired of trying to explain so I just let her. After the cut she offered to wash it and apply products to get the curl. I was frustrated by now so I said no.
It was pouring rain when we were done so I ran to the car to get the umbrella out of the door of my car. My DD and I walked across the street to the deli to eat. 45 min later we return to my car and my front windows are somehow rolled down! When I got my umbrella out, they were UP (it was pouring rain then so I would have noticed). I had not put the key in at any point so how the heck were they down ? Still puzzles me. Anyway, soaking wet seats
It is seriously raining by now and not stopping - my hair is a mess (b/c of the rain) so we decide to skip the errands and go home early b/c the rain is seriously not stopping. We get home, the skies open up and within an hour we are trapped at our house - one low water crossing on each side of us. AND the flooding happened so fast it washed away our electrical transformer box and we had no electricity all afternoon, evening, night
Oh and we had a roof leak.
But somewhere in all this I managed to work on my hair. Keep in mind my fresh cut probably helped ALOT - even though the stylist was not what I wanted - I think she at least had decent cutting skills and she took about 1.5 inches off so alot of the damage was gone.
Clarified w/ pantene purity
Applied honey/Jessicurl WDT mask on- Rinsed off 30 min later (wow, the honey is awesome!)
Applied Suave Naturals Ocean Mist and combed through (the slip on this is almost the same as my Deva One C and no amodethicone!).
Rinsed that out and scrunched in Jessicurl CCSS and then Jessicurl RR in WET hair.
Plopped/plunked for about 20-25 minutes (husbands old t-shirt - my microfiber towel was in the wash)
Air dried the rest and wow the body and curl formation was awesome! (granted I was checking it out in the bathroom with a flashlight but still..) And I still woke up with beautifully curly hair (but much softer/looser thanks to sleeping on it) I'm thrilled! I can't wait to see how long I can go with just rinsing all this out, no washing, etc and what it will look like then. But at least I know with the above routine (included washing) I STILL got hair I'm happy with.
