Utterly obsessed

So since starting CG I have become utterly obsessed with my hair and buying products. Just received my Devacare one conditioner on Thurs and was like an excited child. Had to buy the microfibre towel and turban, wide tooth comb, various gels and cowashing conditioners.
Thought I was all set ..then saw the thread today about the mouse/gel combo was like "I can use mouse on my hair... didn't know that ... why don't I own that mouse??". So I bought the HE SME mouse. (hides head in shame). I am starting to think I need therapy for this newly found hair obsession. :confused2:

Diagnosis: Product Junkie [prah-dukt JUNN-kee): A condition where one becomes very obsessed with buying products and trying new products even when she has found good ones that work. Results in overspending, constant urges to buy new stuff, and wanting to buy any new product one hears about. Extreme cases include purchasing hundreds of dollars worth of stuff in one trip/order and dreaming of products. No treatment is available at this time, but there are various support groups and other product junkie groups. Also known as PJ.

Ummm...me guilty, too. GULP.

You all are going to think I am silly but I get satisfaction from 'shopping' online and putting products in the 'cart'. I then think about our budget and my hard-working hubby and feel guilty. Take products out of cart / delete them , lose the guilt and come back later and do it again...blush. Yes, I am a little OCD. You all are making me crazy! :happy2: :alien: Just kidding.

I do that too! Put products in the cart and then don't buy them...and over again. But then other times I buy other products.

Ooh -- this is a little scary. I *just did that* (put product in cart, SheaMoisture leave-in, to be specific) and then took it out again. And then came here and saw this.

And you know it's going back in the cart one of these days.

Oh I do that too, all the time! I am especially bad on sites that don't ship to Europe, for some reason. One of these days I am going to start importing Oyin, Deva, MopTop and all the other brands and re-sell them here, just so I can use them myself! :laughing9:

I am trying SO HARD not to be a PJ!! I am a natural overspender. I don't usually spend what we can't afford, but I do buy way beyond any reasonable amount that I could actually use. I use all three B&A products, and I have the best hair I've ever had, but I still am dying to buy everything else I read about! WHY???!!! I've spent my whole adult life searching for my HG, and now that I found it, I STILL want to buy new stuff!!

texasgal71 08-19-2007 09:46 AM

I hear you Alice in Wonderland - I don't go NUTS, but when looked at in the perspective of what I *need*, I am WAY overboard.

I think it's sort of like a greed - I find something I like (finally) and that gives me improved results, and then I think, "well, if I found this, there *could* be something even better out there!" Horrible vicious cycle! :laughing9:

But you are not alone!

*feeling dumb* but what is B&A?

beckysma 08-19-2007 09:51 AM

Oh, I love window shopping, I mean cart shopping. If it's a really good cart, I print it out before deleting. In case I get a windfall of money and want to remember my wish list, LOL.

Don't feel dumb! It's Batia & Aleeza, a hair product company/salon. :)

Wonder if it is less expensive to send them to someone here in the States and then have that person ship them to you?
