No doubt - she made that take waaay too long! If I spent that much time on my hair I wouldn't be putting it up...

Holy crap, what is she doing with that diffuser?! And why all those products? And why does she use a curling iron when her hair is already curly? If she was a little more careful when applying the products, and didn't comb, and didn't play around with the diffuser like that, she could save herself quite a few steps and get a prettier result. In the end all I could think was all that - for that?!!

She and her hair are beautiful. Do you really think she does all that when she's not being paid by HE? She could still endorse/show all the same products without spending that much time. MAybe she was trying to show straighties how to get this look?
What's with the mean comments, anyway? One person said she looks like a guy. That's ridiculous. Why be so hateful?

I find that Youtube is like that, you get a lot of trolls and simpletons on there, just out to stir things up.
I like the look, but not the process, like others have mentioned, the whole thing can be achieved faster and with very little product. I tend to use much less styling product for this kind of style, one of the perks having a bun is to give my hair a rest!

Um, she did all that in a towel. Now how's she gonna get dressed?

No.. I can't master a cute bun. I wear down or gather it in a low ponytail when I'm sick of it.

I can get cute buns but they're never on purpose. I just pull it back and hope for the best.
Exactly!!

I get the bun thing all the time. And, it only takes me 2 seconds with no products. I just wait until my hair is dry and I am totally sick of it on my neck. I will say that a claw works much better for a nicer, more professional look.
BTW, her hair looked fried.

If I did that the same way she did it (e.g. using diffuser inappropriately combing and teasing, and loading up with hair spray) I would end up with messy frizzy 80's hair.

I agree...I often put my hair in a bun when I'm being lazy, not when I want to spend hours on it! Sometimes I don't If my hair looks like it took 5 minutes - it's cos it did lol.
Although does anyone find that they can't play with their hair too much or the curls will turn to frizz? She tugged and pulled her hair a lot.... mine would be a birds nest after a while.

I do that all the time, with less products/effort like everyone else, it's my lazy I just want my hair out of my way do.
me too, even if dry. if I always end up with a stringy poofy mess, I hate the days I can't get my updo's right the first time.

Wow.. that, well, looks like a whole lotta' work for not a whole lotta' look.
She's cute, but I personally don't think that that was any better of a bun than if she would have just jerked it back with an elastic and pulled out some tendrils.
For me, a bun is a "dangit-I-touched-my-hair-too-much-or-it's-too-humid-out-I-give-up" look.
It can be cute, and my mom loves it when my hair is up, but...
ehhhhh.
That's a lot of work.
Yeah I'm lazy.

Personally, I didn't like the end result at all. I would have laughed at myself if that was the end result of all my work. I thought her hair looked gorgeous when she was just about to put it up. I would have just left it like that. I tend to like my hair pulled a little tighter in the front, and then let the curly ends show from the bun, but whatever floats her boat.

Man, if I were her, I'd just leave my hair down. Her hair looked absolutely gorgeous before she put it up.
Can you guys believe how little product she used on all that hair? I would have to scrunch more into the ends, personally.

Talk about Hair Envy !
I decided to try her method - not the updo, just the method. Last night I clarified just with some Suave Clarifying Poo. Used some Giovanni Direct Leave-in (won't rebuy, just wanting to use it up) and let it air dry before bed. This morning I mixed equal amounts of GF XXL Volume Mousse and GF SnS (prefer CnS, just trying to use SnS up) and applied it to my dry hair. It took about 3-4 applications to get my hair to a damp state. Diffused for a few minutes, then after it was dry and before I headed off to work, I scrunched in a little bit of GF Soft Curl Cream (mixed with water). I really liked it and the best part is if I can keep doing this, it'll knock out lots of "hair time" in the morning!
