What is the best curl-enhancing conditioner you use?
What is the best curl-enhancing conditioner that you use? I have gone through the conditioner chronicles but I wanted to see what people are using. I have tried Deva Curl (Great Curls-but I get frizz) ,B2b (Too Much Frizz), Mop Top , EMBC, and some others. I am not on CG so I do Poo every day
If possible I would like something I could get local…Ulta, Trade Secret, Whole Foods etc.
Thanks!

I found Mop Top conditioner to be curl enhancing, but too expensive for me to keep repurchasing it.

For me, in general, good moisturization means bouncier curls.
But, if I had to pick and ingredient, it would seem that peach kernel oil in a conditioner would give me more enhancement than many other things. There is thread around here somewhere about conditioners with peach kernel oil.
EMBC and the BB PeachPom have it.

I tried the MOP Top and the problem with it is like you said, it is expensize esp. with the shipping. I wouldn't mind the cost if it was lcoal.
B2B and EMBC did not work for me, too much frizz

The key for me is moisture without weight!
If you are not sensitive to proteins, Giovannis TTT as a leave in,
or in my case, because I have discovered my hair hates protein, Jessicurl Aloeba as a leave in

I got major curls with Activate Hydrating Conditioner, but there's some protein.

I am not sure if I am sentive to proteins or not? I am not on CG, I wash my hair every day. Right now I am using a Natures Gate Poo. Basically what I think is happening with the condtioners is that they cause me frizz. I think it could be perhaps they are too much moisture? My hairdid real well with the Deva, I got great chunky curls but fly away frizz that does not seem to happen with other stuff.

Assuming I'm starting out with moisturized healthy hair, I've found that conditioners don't drastically affect my curls because they are only on for a few minutes.
However, my leave-ins definitely do! AG Recoil is by far the best curl enhancer I've ever tried.

I'm pretty sure if you're shampooing, it would get out any protein build-up - someone correct me if this is wrong
There is an ingredient called Stearalkonium Chloride that is in the majority of conditioners. This ingredient gives me frizz galore & makes my hair feel "coated" One of my most favorite conditioners for pure moisture is the Nature's Gate Herbal. A lot of the other flavors of NG have the above SC ingredient in them & I haven't even bothered trying them, but the Herbal gives me tons of moisture w/o weighing my hair down, & boosts my waves/curls.

Thanks for the protein tip. I have always wondered if I needed to be careful about it. Nice to know that I do not since I poo!
I have noticed, at least in my hair, that the condtioners so seem to affect the curls. At least they did from Mop Top, and Deva. With everything else the same my curls were different

I know Ulta carries the Activate line. That's the only place I know of where it's sold locally, though.

Yeah, Ulta carries Activate. People have seen it at Walgreen's and even Target. Unfortunately, there has been a recent price hike. The conditioner went from being $6.99 to $20. My favorite Activate product, the straightening cream, went from being $6.99 for 5.1 oz (although my Ulta sold it for $3.99) to $25 for 5.1 oz.

I tried the Natures Gate last night and I did get pretty good curls with it for the most part. The problem is that it has a very funky smell! I am not sure I can take it so I would still like to find a new one to try.
I do not know if, as was suggested, that Stearalkonium Chloride is what causes the frizz for me. I do know, as I stated that I get different curls and different frizz with different condtioners.
Activate did not work well for me. Any other thoughts?
Can someone tell me what I might be trying to avoid in a Conditioner ? Or what might be good to look for? As I said I got great chunky curls with Deva but frizz. Ulta has great products but I do not know which ones to choose. Any thoughts?

Giannini Curl N Twirl is hands down the best conditioner for curl enhancement! I can't always count on it at Rite-Aid though, so when I do see, I stock up.
