Bad cut...want to vent
I am so annoyed. Normally my haircuts are really good but this time it is just awful. Partially I suppose it is my fault because I asked about changing the part from a side part to a center part. That would mean making my bangs shorter to change the style up a little so that my bangs could hang straight down instead of trying to go side swept. I knew this going in. However being that my stylist has worked with my hair for quite awhile now and knows the shrinkage I did not expect that the bangs would be cut so short that they make me look like a little kid. They are above my eyebrows I never cut my bangs that short ever. It just looks bad. She cut through some other areas through the top section as well and now they are all too short too. And the pieces that hang down the side are uneven. It's not really noticeable to anyone but me but it makes me mad. We always leave those pieces alone because they hang better when they are a little longer (angled bob). I even said something about not taking too much off there and maybe that is why the other side is a tiny bit longer. Overall it is just a bad cut. I couldn't really tell when she finished what all she had done because we style differently but when I tried to do it myself the next day I was just so mad. It just puffs out to like a round puff ball with little kid bangs. And it's not like I can have her fix it because that would mean making it shorter which would be worse. I know it will grow out and I am trying to be patient and keep reminding myself of that. In the meantime I just wanted to vent it to someone.

I let my stylist part my hair in the middle and cut it once, BIG mistake. My part is off to the left and I always make sure it's EXACT when I go in for a trim. Hopefully, your hair (and cut) will settle down in a couple of weeks, I always hate my hair right after it's been cut.

im so sorry to hear about your cut! you would think the stylist would know better than to chop it too short like that!
i had a really similar problem about a year ago; i wanted my hair a LITTLE bit shorter in front so i could have kind-of bangs, and i ended up looking like a poodle with these awkward, tight little spirals coming off my forehead. i was also really unhappy with my cut and felt alot like you do now. after trying alot of different things to fix it, i ended up using a curling iron on my bangs every morning (takes about 1 minute), and it actually helped out alot! i still do it sometimes when my bangs shrink too much on humid days. this way i can make my bang-curls a little bigger/longer/looser, and they still blend in with the rest of my hair and for the most part look reallly natural.
hope this helps.....good luck!!!

Well, I'm not even sure if I have a good cut or a bad cut on the rest of my head, but I do know I have the too short thing going on with my bangs! I'm a grown woman and I feel like I am 3 years old when I look at my bangs. They curl up so short...I get so mad!
At the rate of 1/2 an inch per month growth (hopefully), this could be a long wait. I keep stretching them out with my fingers!

I don't know if this will help u or if you'd even be willing to do this but....
I cut my bangs shorter & since I have a couple of cowlicks they shrink way up to. What I do to make then longer & look more modern is split them off to the side & flat iron them over. I'm liking it - maybe this technique would help u while u grow them out?????
 GL!!!

you shouldn't have to deal with not like your hair after it's cut! that means you need a new stylist. if you don't like the style they do after its cut or they don't get your curls looking just right, fine (i mean no one can get it how i want it excpet me) but the cut itself should make you happy. find someone else!

Honestly this is the only time she has messed up the cut and I have been going to her for a long time. I will forgive this one time partly because I did tell her I wanted to change the part and change my bangs. Now that it has settled some from the cut, it isn't as bad but the bangs are still too short. But I am going to take this as a live and learn situation and make sure I am much more clear about cutting the bangs next time. In the meantime I am playing around with the part to get the best look so that is kind of fun. After all it's just hair and it will grow out.

no doubt you should stay with a stylist who you have always been happy with, but i was concerned about curlyincolorado. it's hard, like breaking up with a boyfriend!

Ha ha ha ha, curlgirl, don't be concerned, I'm loyal to no stylist. I'm so darn picky about who cuts my hair and how they cut it, I've become a stylist junkie. I've spent $40 to $80 for hair cuts, have had blowouts and attempts to style it curly, but no one knows my hair better than me. I think the reason I disliked my last hair cut was the sulfate shampoo used, it dried out my hair something fierce, not to mention the sticky, icky products that she used. Blah. Next person to cut it will be deva trained

Oops, sorry. I missed that you had quoted her. Got some teenage son drama going on today and my mind is kind of all over the place.
