About the KY in the hair thing...

Now I know to the newbies this is gonna sound weird, but here goes... I read on the other KY in the hair thread that most use it before anything else on wet hair just like CK. But has anyone ever tried it on dry hair? And have any of you that use/have used it mixed with with something else like RR or a leave in? If so what were the results...

OK, I'll go. The first couple of times I tried it was on dry hair with damp hands. I was trying to use it to calm down my $#@% crown frizz. It seemed to give me some help with clumping. I had inconsistent results in terms of frizz. This was the KY warming lotion -- I like it cuz it has honey, and, it's warming!

After seeing the comparisons to CK in the later KY thread, I've tried Astroglide a couple of times on naked wet hair. Too soon for me to tell if it's working or not. I've been trying so many new things at once, I can't tell yet what's working. Let us know how you make out . . .

I haven't tried it on dry hair. However, I have used it and for me personally it doesn't even compare to CK. I was bummed, I was hoping it would be a cheap alternative to CK. I used it under Biotera Curl Creme and it was gross, nowhere near the winning combo CK + BCC is for me.
The warming one, because of the honey, sounds intriguing. But isn't that stuff expensive?
See I haven't tried it b/c I use CK and it has hold. And I don't think KY has any hold b/c..well it just wouldn't be conducive to sex.

I like using it on wet hair the same way I would use CK. Astroglide is more liquidy and easy to distribute, but KY has more "hold". I think anything that eventually forms a film and solidifies can be considered to have hold, and KY definitely does that. I've always deemed it too sticky for my nether regions.

I've never tried it on dry hair, but I'll do it for science.
I guess thats true there are 2 kinds- the ones kind of a gel in a tube (sticky)and the other one is a liquid in a small bottle. I forgot about that..

So I used it this morning...on my hair...over my SheaM and KKKT leave in mix. At first I thought it was going great, but then the length of my hair started frizzing the drier it got. My crown however is a different story...I have less crown frizz today than I ever have. I also may not have used enough on the length which is why it may have frizzed so bad.
But it's worth it if only for the reduced crown frizz!

I bought both the warming and the gel ky and I prefer the gel because it has more hold. I didn't notice a difference with the warming except it felt nice in my hand when I rubbed them together. LOL.
