Default Is it possible for color-treated hair to dislike protein?

I thought since my hair is damaged from color that it probably needs protein, but it is not responding well. I do use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards, but it doesn't help.

Thanks,
Jennie

My color treated hair hates proteins. When I first tried the CG method I was using a protein conditioner for co-washing. I couldn't understand how, with all that conditioner, my hair was so straw-like and dry feeling. After doing some research I switched to non-protein products and got almost immediate improvement in the softness and texture of my hair. I will say that everyone is different, however, and that my experience may not be the same as yours.

I color treat and can't stand protein.

OMG! I have tried everything, and I guess my hair doesn't like protein either. I am going to try eliminating it and see how that goes.

Thanks,
Jennie

Can't do protein, AT all! Even the slight amount in the Jessicurl conditioners turns my hair into straw. I would never do a protein treatment. Took me about a year to figure this out

It has taken me more than a year of terrible hair! I just hope this is my problem, but I have tried everything else.

What are some good deep conditioners to use?

Thanks,
Jennie

I don't deep condition, but then again, I don't use any heat styling devices. My hair is air dryed.

After trying a gazillion routines, I have been having the best luck with CO wash with VO5 Chamomille Tea or the Vitaburst conditioners, then comb some Boots Curl Cream through hair in shower with one of those detangling combs, wrap in MF Turban, then scrunch a bit, then air dry.

Maybe you should lok into the Jsessicurl WDT because it does not have protein at all. G'Luck
