How do you add quotes to your posts?

So, how 'bout taking some pics with the clips in to show me how they look once there in. I know it won't help me with sliding them in myself, but at least I would have a 'goal look'.

yup, 2happy, the way msg describes the clipping is exactly how my stylist did it. the way they show it in the CG book is strange and i didn't understand it, and it is not the way i had it done.

My stylist also showed me the way I do it now -- only she can do it with one giant clip and still get better lift than I can with a gazillion little ones. I don't have much luck with the larger clips.

And, ITA with marybeth, you don't want to put too much hair in each clip -- the lighter the weight, the easier it is to lift. And I also learned the hard way -- don't slide the clips in too far or it really messes up your hair when you try to remove them.

I have tons of clips, and do take just small amounts. He made them slide in so easy and land in the perfect spot. When I explained my struggle to him, he said "most people have troubles because they open the clip up too much before sliding". Well, I've tried being careful how much I open them, but they just never 'slide', and they never end in the right spot. But again, I'm guessing I just don't know the right spot.

Funny how many turns this thread has taken

I will greatly appreciate photo's from both of you. Good to have a couple different 'plans'!!

this sounds kind of dumb, happy, but maybe you are trying too hard. just relax and slide the clips in, it is not hard to do, just takes a little practice.

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will help me.

Now, it looks like your hair isn't soaking wet. Was it when you put the clips in? Maybe I need to let mine be a little dryer first. It's not dripping, but it's still very wet and heavy........

I tend to diffuse in "shifts".

I always look at the title of this thread and think "How did that turn into a four page thread?" Now I know.
