Default itchy scalp

I found a recipe on here for a sugar mix that wold rub the dry skin off my scalp. So I used it by putting 5 tbsp. conditioner and 1 tbsp. raw sugar on my scalp. The recipe said to rub it and when I felt a itchy spot to rub until it stopped itching. Well I never even felt the sugar rubbing my scalp and now it still itches. I still have the dry skin flaking off and I want to itch so bad, but I have really dark brown hair and one flake screams "here I am". Will somebody please help or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Apple cider vinegar is very good for itchy scalp. Leave in on your scalp (dilute it so the concentration suits you, but about 1:4 should be good) until the itching subsides, then rinse well.

Adding a few drops of tea tree oil or rosemary to a carrier oil and massaging it into that spot should also help. You can also add these essential oils to your shampoo/ conditioner. HTH

2nd the tea tree oil
I add 3-5 drops in my palm w/shampoo & let it sit for 5 minutes while I wash my body/scrub feet...
It really helps IMO!
