Ouidad's "Curl Talk" - anyone understand the styli

I'm reading this book and her styling process confused me...it says to rake the fingers through the hair and then define the curls with your fingers. That i get. But in the next step, it says to rake through it again and then hold it. Doesn't that mess up the "defining" step? Then it says to position the hair with duckbill clips...why? Please help!!!

you basically hold the ends and shake it so the curls canfall into place...at least that is what I got from it.

Here's some instructions from the website that has pictures. I'm not sure if it's the same as the book, it's been a while since I read it. Hope it helps

beware when y'all are doing this. Gerri (who did my Deva cut this past Friday) showed me that technique, and it calls for a LOT of product. My hair is thin so I don't need that much. If you have thick hair, this may not be the technique for you. It definitely works to seperate curl, but it just requires so much product.

Happy curling!!

The best thing I got from them is to apply it to the canopy as if you are putting your hair in a ponytail. I've been SO pleased with that method.

Ouidad styling technique works like a charm for me and I don't need a ton of product. Just need a leave-in and a gel. When I used Ouidad products I used Botanical Boost and Curl quencher, maybe some Climate control.
