How Long Does a Deva Cut Take?

We're driving to Houston over the Thanksgiving weekend for me to get a Deva cut at the Blue Mamba and to see the Lucy Exhibit at the Houston Science and Nature Museum. My husband's worried we won't have time to do both in one day. My appointment is for 9:00 a.m. on Sat. the 24th of Nov. How long will it take for her to do my Deva (cut only -no color)? ( I have a chin-length bob and not a whole lotta hair.)

You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving North.
I think I was there about 2 hours. Did you make an appointment with Gerri? If so, bring your own stuff if you dont' like Deva products. I didn't like my hair when I left there at all, because of the products, not the cut. You know your hair better than anyone, so bring the stuff you always use and ask her to use that to style. (I am certain she won't mind, but if you're curious, just call her and ask if that's okay - she's unbelievably friendly and I'm sure it's not a big deal.) She put the Deva Sun dryer on my hair (that thing with the ginormous HAND) and it kinda frizzed my hair because she was pushing it up underneath my hair and kinda disturbing it, so to speak. I will bring my own goods next time and ask that she not put me under the dryer and just let me leave wet. I don't have much hair either, and on top of that, it's thin. So it doesn't take long to dry really. I bet you could get in and out in an hour (maybe 15 min extra) if you ask her to just let you leave wet.

If your husband is bawking at time constraints, ask him this: Do you want to have one fun day at the museum, or weeks and weeks of marital happiness because your hair is wonderful? I'm sure he'll give in.....

I'm pm'ing you

I was there over three hours, but that was cut and color and a couple of people in between me with just cuts (one deva cut no style which was super quick, one regular cut on a guy was also pretty quick). And I have fairly long hair, fine but lots of it.

I bet she could cut it dry and then not re-style it in 30 minutes if you're really in a hurry.
I don't want to be in a hurry. I want to be able to relax and enjoy the experience. DH and I talked about it and I think I'm going to call back and move my appt. to Friday afternoon (they already told me Gerri has some time available). That way we can drive down Friday morning, get my hair cut, and make a whole-day adventure at the museum the next day.

I'm soooo excited!!!

Winnie I saw your pics and you and your hair are adorable!! I can't wait to see Texasmama's pics.

Thanks ya'll for your prompt response!

It takes over 2 hours when I get mine done-- that's just a cut, but she puts me under the old hood dryers for most of the hair, then the heat lamps to finish it off. It's a good time to just sit and relax, read a magazine, and chat with my stylist. Just some ME time.

Have fun and I'll send the "great haircut" vibes your way!
