Default How does one achieve...

...curls that are not looser, per se, but not so tangled in with one another? I know that probably doesn't make sense. My individual locks are all locked up with each other, so the locks don't move too well, it's like one big mass. I would like my hair to be more piecey, I guess. It's quite thick, which I like, I just want the locks smoother and more defined so that there is more movement.
I don't usually put product in my hair soaking wet, because it takes too long to dry...but would this be a way to get it more piecey? Thoughts?

It could be and maybe rake product through and twist then scrunch?? It's what I do to the back of my hair and it works well :s
