IMO, the petrified wet curl look is equivalent of the wet dog look :x ....not very becoming but smells better.
Yes! That is exactly how I feel & why I am so impatient that my hair takes soooooo long to dry! It is even a very different colour when it is wet. Plus I have no volume till it is dry.
ditto. I hate the wet look.
Me too, but I noticed that many products, such as Curly Pudding, say "how your hair looks wet is how it will look dry" and I wondered why that was a good thing. The slightly damp look would be awesome though!
ITA about the wet look. But, I would love the slightly damp look

I voted 'in between' I like my hair to be moist, if that makes sense.

I voted for dry. It looks stringier, a little frizzier and flatter when it's wet. I really like it when it's dry though. I especially like it right when I wake up in the morning after washing it the night before.

Agreed! Some enterprising hair product scientist should create such a thing for us NC curlies!!! S/he would make a fortune (hint, hint......)

I like mine best about half dry. It starts getting frizzier when it's completely dry.

I like mine best when it's dry, too. Now that it's longer and I do the CG thing, I actually don't get shrinkage. And as I've posted before, I tend to like a little bit of pouf or a little halo going on. It's me, I guess.

I look like a drowned rat with wet hair. It looks like stringy, overly-layered straight hair until it dries. Then it bounces up into ringlets (on a good day).

I prefer my hair dry for sure. Also...and I know I'm probably in the minority here...but I like a little bit of frizz too! Sort of like Tracee Elis Ross's hair. I LOVE HER HAIR! And her hair is never in perfect shiny curls, it's always a little frizzy & messy looking. For me, this is the way I like to wear my hair. I don't want it to look like I spent hours on my hair....even though I may have!

Yep, me too, for that exact reason. (Not too surprised though, because I have seen pics of your hair and, if I am remembering correctly, you may well be my hair twin!)

I like mine dry because when it's wet it looks like the model's in the BEFORE ad for Yanai Van The Curls Expert ad.

I like my hair when it is almost dry (80% perhaps). It has curl but not the shrinkage.

And I like when it has been dry for hours because I can get volume and manipulate the curls without getting frizz.

For some reason my hair that is dry to the touch does not look as good as almost dry hair and hair that has been dry for hours.

Would not mind a product that could hold the damp look.

Exactly!

i like the way my individual curls look wet--they're more elongated, so maybe its just the extra length i like. when its wet however, its very flat--even when its, finally, completely dry on day one. day 2 has been just awesome for me lately. at night i use little clips to pin my curls up towards the crown of my head (still too short for a 'loose' pineapple) and in the morning, i still have those well defined curls, AND the volume that i like.

I totally agree with having DRY curls, I never understood why people wanted to have hair that resembles noodles. I haven't worn my hair in it's natural curls since around when I was 15-ish (I'm 21) because my hair is really unruly because it's thick asian hair, and I never knew how to deal with till now! I'm still flat-ironing it because it's really short but I plan to grow it out and do the no-poo routine sometime soon

I definitely likes how it looks dry a lot better, and it's so frustrating because it takes forever to dry (at least like five hours). But I have no patience for drying or diffusing! So it's wet until lunchtime every day.

Because my hair is fine/thin I do not like it wet or uncrunched out (if that makes sense). I get a lot of scalp showing during that period.

I love my hair the most right after I decrunchify when it's dry. Sometimes I leave my hair crunchy all day if I am going out that night - then my hair looks better when I do go out because it has not had as much of chance to loosen up.
