what if you make a mistake?

okay so I have been cg for the past couple of weeks, or so I thought. Then today I saw on a site that amodimethicone is never water soluable. Some of my products have that as an ingredient. Does that mean I have to wash with sulfate shampoo and start over? ugh! Why is it all so confusing? Products should just be labeled "cg" or "not cg"

You could try shampooing with baby shampoo, since it is cleansing to cones but still relatively gentle. I'm not sure about the stubbornness of that specific cone, though. I guess if it still feels yucky you could try to shampoo with the baby shampoo a few times and see if that helps at all.

ETA I visited your fotki and you and your curls are beautiful! I've always loved 3b and 3c curls!

I was using a product with a-cone and washed with a non-sulfate...after about 3 co-washes. Worked. It takes some time to build up.

Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
I think if you read Laurabeth's thread about cones, buildup, etc., she says that the a-cone can be removed with the cleanser cocamidopropyl betaine. So if you don't want to use a sulfate, you can try finding a poo with that in it. I don't know one to suggest, though. Anyone?

If you don't have noticeable build-up, you may be ok just continuing to co-wash. How high on the ingredient list was the a-cone? We have some strictly CG curlies who can use the a-cone without build-up.
