curls have disappeared

Has this ever happened to you, get a hari cut, it all voulme and thicker and then no curls and then you wonder is it the cut becuase your told a certain cut will cut out curls, it looked a bit like a posh spice bob cut when straightened a look if would never get, i don't think bobs work on curly hair anyway then i was told it was becuase of the pill becuase i haven;t gained weight so the hormone imblanace came out in my hair.

What is the truth? are my curls gone for good, all help greatly appreciated. i have now become obsessed with my curls and before i did think i'd love to hari poker straight hair, then i preferred curls and then i was happy i could go straight for a night out for a change, so be careful what you wish for.

Sorry i am blabbing on.

I have heard that the pill can change your curl pattern, but I'm not sure if it'll make it totally straight. Your cut and what products you're using are probably a factor as well. I'm thinking your hair may become wavy instead...

I'm no expert, so I hope there are more responses to this question!

Huh...you know, I think when I was my curliest I was on the pill. Now I'm on a much more localized hormone that shouldn't affect hairgrowth. I just put that together.

To the OP - what type of curls did you have? If they're 3b or curlier, I'm not sure a cut would affect how curly it looks, but for a 3a and wavies, I think length and cut is a factor.

Sorry but are you sure you're from Ireland? Did you mean India or Indonesia or something?

I've actually always had a problem with my hair curling after a cut, my son too. Especially if it was a lot, it does come back eventually least for me and my son. Anytime I do anything more then just a trim then my hair goes into what my family would call "shock", and go straight for awhile.

I've avoided big cuts like the plague since I was old enough to make my own hair choices since so I can't say how long it takes to grow back.

Do you know your curl type? Some curlies hair only curls properly when its longer. When my hair is short it looks absolutely straight, only kind of bending into a c-shape at 2 inches or something, then curling properly at maybe 6 inches.

If this is the case with you, maybe your hair will regain the curls when it grows some more

My hair does this too. I actually have to avoid any type of styled cut, especially with layers. Some people, that have just wavy thin hair (like me, I don't know about you) can have their curl cut right out. Give it some time, it will grow back. ;)
