Hair compliments rock!

Today at the mall, a woman randomly came up to me and asked me if my curls were natural. When I told her that they were, she responded that she was jealous, and told me that she chemically treated her hair in order to get waves. Then she came and sort of looked over my hair and told me "I LOVE your hair!!"

Hehe. With all the work and products that I've tried, it kind of made my day to get a compliment like that!

I love that feeling too! I had a similar experience a few weeks ago at a wedding! It seriously makes your week doesn't it?
2c or 3a Cut most of my hair off in July '12 and am working on regrowing it.
Isn't that a great feeling?! I would have been beaming. Now that I'm so curl-conscious, when I notice someone with pretty curls, I tell them. I met the nicest curly woman at Whole Foods recently. She really had beautiful and unusual hair. It was a lovely color with some of her natural grays coming through, and she had beautiful spirals that were SO shiny, and a good cut. She was thrilled that I noticed. And of course she told me how much she liked my wavy hair. We both agreed smugly that curls & waves are so much more interesting than stick-straight blown-out/ironed hair!

And Jaxie, you are getting boatloads of compliments on your new haircut in that thread -- you should be on cloud 9 for weeks to come!

I find that hair compliments seem to come when i most need them. A few weeks ago i was completly fed up with my hair. Finally I just said whatever and went to get the train. As i was getting off some man said I dont want to sound out of place, but you have beautiful hair, I noticed when you were getting on and had to say something. Totally turned my day around.

Does anyone have a problem with strangers touching your hair though? It weirds me out sometimes. I was in a department store one when an employee came up behind me and actually yanked on my hair. I turned around and said what did you do that for? and she goes, I just wanted to see if it was real. I wanted to ask what she would have done if it wasnt but just walked away instead.

Lucky it was you and not me -- I might very well have slapped her.
I'd complain to management if an employee grabbed my hair without asking for permission first. They were lucky you didn't decide to sue them for assault.
BTW, your hair IS freakin' gorgeous -- I can see why people would want to touch it, but they should have better manners!
