Do you colour your hair?

I've been wondering how many people colour their hair, since it seems to be more than I would have thought.

I am currently letting my hair go back to its natural black - there is some chestnut brown gloss that I am trying to counteract with coffee, molasses, black conditioner etc. but I am considering a reddish one as it does loosen curl for me so it might help blend my regrowth more, and distract me from wanting to re-texturize.

excuse my Canadian spelling!
Get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me. -Muhammad Ali

I used to color my hair, but I don't anymore. I still have about 3in of old color left on my ends, that I'll eventually cut off.

i have naturally red hair with white blonde highlights (at least as a child i had the white-blonde highlights) and in high school i started doing golden blonde highlights, then in college i started all-over lightening to strawberry blonde. now i'm trying to grow it out and go back to my natural red. i've got a few inches of natural red at the top - in front the color maybe changes around my eyes.

I must confess I do get highlights every summer. I can't stand being drab brown all year! At the summers end I'll let them go and last year I got a semipermanent color over the highlights to make it look like my natural color for the winter.
My stylist doesn't use bleach on my hair so they aren't as damaging as they could be. I just make sure to DT every week, protein followed by moisture with heat and condition well every or every other day. It seems healthy so far.
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.
I opted for highlights only (caramel & honey shades), in reality I can't really see my natural colour anymore because I have to have them re done so often (to cover grey).
Iv'e nearly always coloured my hair, Ive gone from white blonde to dark brown to red. Ive always come back to blonde though. (Im a blonde on the inside too )
I do get it done professionally though so its 'quite gentle'.

I color to cover grays.. It's an added plus that a red tinge is attractive with my coloring. And I think that you will get less loosening of curl than you think. In my experience, the better, more gentle hair color choices (like Naturtint or Garnier Nutrisse, for permanent, and L'oreal Casting for semi-perm) don't loosen curl that much, or at all.

You might strike a happy medium between not-too-damaging but still curl loosening with L'oreal Excellence or Preference.

Also, you could just glorify curly hair (and not just wavy or loose curly hair) like I have been doing lately, to counteract the strong urge to texturize, which I sometimes feel too :P

I feel like I need an "other" option! I color with a demipermanent (L'Oreal Colorspa) just to even out new growth while I grow out highlights. I color as infrequently as possible and plan to stop once my highlights have grown out more.

I am now completely out of the closet as the craziest of crazy cat ladies. I own it. I embrace it. I am one with the crazy.
I do now! I voted "I use a permanent colour all over in a different shade" because I used a permanent color in a different shade. However, it only really affected my natural highlights without doing anything to my dark hair so it's not truly an entirely different color than my own. It takes my coppery highlights to the dark auburn I think they should be.

My intent when coloring was just to tone down the orange but after coloring, my hair looks a lot thicker around my hairline, leading me to think I had more whites coming in than I realized. I am now totally rethinking growing white-haired naturally as I get older. I would be okay with a white streak but I'm too young to have thin-looking hair in front due to whites. I don't want damage from coloring so I used Robert Craig color. It was either that or a henna/indigo blend but I didn't want to have to mess around with different recipes to find the right color.
3a/b, fine, lots of it
Permanent color here to cover grays. I am not ready to grow out the gray, so I will continue to color. The color I use is a prettier dark brown than my natural dark brown.

I have been dying my hair for 10 years now. The last 6 has been different shades of red, with a year long time period with black hair. But today, I dyed it back to my natural color (dark brown) and I will let my natural hair grow from now on.

My hair grows so darn fast that and the grays are resistant to semi-permanent color, so I color with permanent stuff (Wella color charm from Sally's) about every 5 weeks. I put the color on the roots and let it sit for about 25 minutes, then pull it through to the ends for another 10. Despite it's frequent exposure to the chemicals, my hair is somewhat healthy. I don't have a lot of split ends, but it is somewhat porous and slightly coarse so it feels a bit dry if I don't use a lot of conditioner. I don't need to use a leave-in very often though as long as I don't rinse out all the CO, so I guess it's not really as dry as I think.

USED to think I was a 2 b/c wavy, until I started growing out my very short hair and discovered I'm actually a 3 a/b curlyhead!
I don't use any color. Last time I colored my hair was 20 years ago. I got highlight and it was a mess!
I may be getting highlights next month when I model for Devachan, let's see what they do to my hair.

for the first time in my life, i colored my hair. i used a semi permanent color in purple. next time, i ll be going red. and i dont plan on bleaching my hair
For the past five months, I have had both blonde (bleach) and red highlights. Then she does a brown toner over that. It looks really good, if I must say so myself. My natural color is dark brown, so once she does the brown toner it looks very natural and pretty, yet lighter than my natural color. In the fall I will go darker again with just red highlights. My hair is none worse for the wear because I CG and deep condition ALOT.

Highlights and in the fall I add some lowlights too. After I had children my hair went from strawberry blonde to dark ashe blonde. I left it for three years and got tired of everone asking me if I was sick and/or okay during the winter months. Apparently, ashe washes me out w/ my pastey white winter skin
I have highlights, but I am not getting them again, too damaging.

I am looking at options to start colouring my hair, starting to get a few greys. I am not sure if I want to start colouring yet though, cause once I start it I will have to keep doing it. I am looking at the Naturtint & I am also thinking about Henna not sure what to do yet.

I think I may try a temporary colour from L'Oreal Colour Pulse. Hopefully, it goes ok and my hair becomes the colour I want.
